I am staying at Ramada Soi 11 now. It is the old Grand Swiss and it has been fully remodeled and is very modern. I would recommend this hotel with one issue to mention. Their breakfast is expensive and has fewer choices than most. No eggs cooked to order. Being a three minute walk to the Nana BTS elevator is nice for us older guys.

Several years ago I got fed up with Ambassador and started looking for alternatives, including Grand Swiss. The standard rooms were tiny, too small for comfort. If someone decides to stay at Ramada Soi 11, be sure to check the size of the room before you reserve.

The Travelodge on Sukhumvit 11 is very good. 4 star level for a 3 star price.

The Holiday Inn Express on Soi 11 (right next to the Travelodge) also is a good option, but it's prices seem to have gone up up a bit.

Anyone tried or have intel about the Ramada by Wyndham on Soi 11? I think it's the old Grand Swiss. It's suggested there's been a full refurb. Can get a very good price for it for a November stay.

So its my first trip to BKK and I was wondering what's the area around the conrad like? I read from another post its quiet?

Its pretty quiet there. It is my preferred hotel in BKK, but my last stay was just before COVID. Not a lot in the mall there, but there is (was) a shuttle to the BTS station. You can walk it, but not many do.

For not much money, you could hire a personal shopper to accompany her and work with drivers, etc. Tip the shopper well and tell them the hours you need to be 'alone'.

Unless Soi11 is a must area to stay at for you, you may want to give the Ibis Sukhumvit 24 a try. They have a Mercure as well (same building, higher floors). I stayed at both and it's just by the BTS, Emporium, Emquartier. 1 stop to Cowboy and 2 stops to Nana.

Soi 11 isn't an absolute must, but it's what I know best. I like that area, half way between Nana and Cowboy, and I know it well. I've also stayed in soi 7, soi 13 and soi 15 before. But strangely never in the even sois over the road.

I am also considering the Miami (for the experience) Citrus 13 (some very average reviews though) and the Belaire in Soi 5, and maybe the Galleria 12 - none of which I have stayed at. Stable Lodge also looks quite appealing to me.

I was looking at booking the Citidines Soi 11 for my upcoming trip. I read recent reviews of the Ramada and doesn't sound that great yet. I usually stay at the Hilton Ploenchit for easy access to Nana and Either the Doubletree Soi 26 or Hilton Soi 24 to have fun in that area and Soi Cowboy. Both very good hotels and being a lifetime Hilton Diamond member with points galore my hotels are free. But wanting to get in the heart of Soi 11 for a few days myself.

Why anyone would want to be in the heart of that tourist shithole when there are so many other places available is beyond me.

Ah yep I've stayed there before, it's quite good. I've also stayed at the Citadines Soi 11 (quite good) and the Mercure (excellent but pricey). I'm currently re-booked at the Citadines, but was considering trying the Ramada out.

Now that I've played around with the Ramada website, it seems that the super good price was really too good to be true. The actual cost in THB works out to more than double the quoted AUD price. I assume that there's a glitch in the conversion rate (when I price in USD, that matches the THB price). Nonetheless, I could still stay there in a standard room IF the place was decent. The closer proximity to Sukhumvit Rd and the BTS station appeals.

I have my wife with me and she is not up for partying and certainly does not know about our extra curricular activities, all she is in intesred is in shopping, I was going to leave her to it while I went to a spa or somwhere to have fun or invite a girl round.

Never stayed at either as I prefer higher end hotels but they're in neighborhoods I frequent often.

Are there any hotels that are near the higher end soapies like poseidon or colonize? I swear I saw a few being advertised once on some popular blogs by being in their vicinity and it wasn't near Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
