I thought the group might like to know about a deal available at the Conrad under October 23. It includes an upgrade (space available, of course) to a corner room.

Posts: 142Thanks for the tip. I booked a couple of nights there in July although with taxes and a bullshit 10% 'service charge' it comes out to 2400 baht a night. Still good deal though.

Posts: 3823Recently stayed at Hopeland serviced apartments in Soi 24 while not in mongering mode.
If playing the field, I would have probably gone to my normal haunts.
Special price was 2300 Baht, including free breakfast, free wifi, small but usable pool.
Room had a bedroom, lounge and kitchenette. Very nicely furnished.
Mostly Japanese customers. Only down side was on quiet days, the breakfast selection was a bit limited, but adequate, e.g. no scrambled eggs or omelettes.
Coffee was a bit variable, too weak on occasions.
Wifi needed special settings under Vista, but fine once setup. A bit old fashioned?
I would go back as a very classy room at this price.
Slightly too far from Suk (400m+) but still reasonably close to Phrom Phong station.

My proposal is far but easy for you to get to. From wikimapia in my previous post I can see that Shangri La is close to Saphan Taksin BTS Skytrain station. You then would have to change the train track in Siam BTS station going to On Nut and leave in Nana BTS. Then walk to Beer Garden on Soi 7.
