I normally stay at the Grand President on Soi 11. With a month to go to my next trip, I was looking at the wotif. Com website to see what was being offered. There were several "mystery" deals with "5 Star" hotels on Suk. Listed around 3, 000 bt per night.

I was wondering what anyone's experience was with wotif. Com and what "5 Star" hotels it features normally. Other than the "mystery" deals, the only other prices seem to be the normal rack rate for the hotels listed on the website.

Has anybody stayed at the Four Points Bangkok? Any issues bringing back girls?

It got great reviews on Trip Advisor.

No problems at all. If you search the Thailand forum and subforums for Four Points Sheraton you will find numerous reports. Mine will be among them.

I haven't been to BKK in too long and looking forward to going back this season. First time I went I stayed at the Solitaire (great rooms but slightly too far to walk to the bars). Last time I was there I think (can't remember!) I stayed at the GP. Actually it was in some serviced apartments behind the GP hotel itself but also belonged to the GP. Is the GP the huge one with the tailor shops in the lobby, a massive outdoor pool? On the same soi as the Solitaire but closer to the action?

Anyway, I've heard about some ultra modern, newer hotels that have been built since I was there, but not sure of the names or if they are in walking distance of nana. Any reccomendations?

There are so many hotel near Sukhumvit area you need do some research yourself, the one I like is the Majestic suite one block form NANA is about 100 USD a night also check with Agoda and hotel. Com they have map on the area with different price level and picture of the room.

Well my GF is from China and she feels more comfortable if the other girl does not speak Chinese. I only like asian girls, so aside from finding a Thai / Viet girl in HK / Shanghai, it is more likely I will have better success in the ultimate source. The main problem is to explain to everyone else why I travel to the sex capital of the world. You guys count yourself lucky that you don't need to explain to anybody.

As for wine, I understand. I have seen many girls in China really enjoy fine wine, so maybe it depends on where I find the girl. I hope I don't have to use the like of Bangkok Gold Escorts.

Just FYI, the Skybar (Lebua State Tower) probably has the very best views of any of them, especially at night. The atmosphere, with the band playing, is very nice. Some might even say romantic. However, since Hangover II came out, it's jam packed with tourists. Also, the drinks will run you about $20 each, and are shit. Not "The shit," just shit. Banyan Tree's bar is a bit better, but the view isn't quite as good.

Excellent, this is very useful list indeed, and sure enough, Banyan Tree top the list, so looks like I better stay there after all, but now I can find a second hotel for my 2nd night.

To Bionicman, switching hotel is no big deal as we travel light. 10 min to pack and check out and check in usually is also just 10 min, or I hope to be the case in any 5 star.

I have never been to BKK, and between wife and GF, I may never have chance again in my life, and some of these hotels look so spectacular that I really want to soak in as much as possible.

A man wants to see / enjoy Bangkok. And he fusses about staying in an hotel which will be just like many hotels all over the world. If he wants an international.

Hotel. Go stay at the Oriental. Or the Peninsula. All the hotels on the river at least give some insight into Thai life. And if "the hotel" is the draw of Bangkok.

Being near Skvt is just a waste of time.

I have been looking around for the "perfect" hotel for my trip in May. I have been looking at Livingstones (a little bit too far off for me) , Ruamchitt (seems to old and smoking is allowed in all rooms) , Cozyat10 (looks alright but no breakfast) , Paradiso also in Soi 10 (looks very ok, breakfast included but they haven't answered booking email for 24 hours).

So today I found what I think is the perfekt hotel, seems to have everything. New, top location, breakfast. You name it! On8 Sukhumvit Hotel with entrace both from Nana BTS-station and first sub-soi to the right in Soi 8.

Good price for deluxe room 23 sqm, just under 2000 baht.
