You can renew your passport at any Embassy / Consulate in the world. It is very simple if you have an existing passport to present to the consulate or embassy. Less simple if you have lost it or there is another issue with it. You do not need to do it in your home country.
Most countries have an express service where they can renew it in a few days. However this does cost significantly more than the standard renewal fee for which can take a week or 2.

The first thing to check before planning to travel to Thailand is the validity of your passport. International travel requires that your passport is not expiring within six months of your travel date. If you have less than six months left on your passport, you cannot enter Thailand.

Posts: 798Info needed about the 6 months passport validity rule
Hi all,
I have a trip lined up to Asia soon and I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to make a stop on my way back in BKK and spend a few days in the land of the smiles. I carry a European passport so I am visa exempt, the only problem is that my passport has less than the 6 months validity. I read on some forums that if I have a return to my home town, that should be fine. That being said I don't want to get stranded in the airport and needing to do last minutes change should I not be allowed in, not to mention any penalties that could be applied. Does any one know how the immigration deal with that or has gotten through a similar situation?
Thanks!

Posts: 336Citadines Soi 11 - Open, Closed, or What?
Has this hotel re-opened? In most of the videos of Soi 11, often times this hotel appears to be closed. The bar in the front of the hotel was closed during Covid and no replacement appears to have been installed. Also, the restaurant in the hotel does not seem to be listed in any descriptions of the hotel. Does anyone know of what the status of this hotel is? Thanks for any information you may provide!
