3-4minutes of slow walk to Sukhumvit. And bear in mind I am slow walker as I don't want to break sweat.

Look up Boss Suites, Soi 4, move up beyond IBIS (100 metres) and then take a rightatWoraburi. Around 1300 Baht per night, inclusive breakfast, free wi-fi in room. And very GF. Good VFM.

    Happy mongering

Yes, I've stayed at Citadines Soi 23. The one bedroom suite was more than adequate with good broadband services and full kitchen. The Tuk-Tuk service never ran when I was there but Cowboy / MRT / BTS are in easy walking distance. Girl friendly, often had to key card the front door later at night.

    LOL harsh but fair!

Thanks, very helpful. You don't know me but you judge me. I'm travelling 6 months arround asia although I am not rich, so if I want to live the whole 6 months I cannot.

Afford expensive hotels. If its not possible to find a hotel at this rate, it would be more helpful for me just to say "no possible here" than "find another job".

Increasingly it seems to me that the availability of 'relatively' cheap women is convincing people that the whole visit will be cheap.

Even the most hardened of WGs is not going to fancy going back to a doss house (she probably sharesa room with others in her own place.

If you cannot afford $150*£100 plus a day before you factor in punting costs you are going to have a miserable time.

*Bring on the cheap charlies who will now try to prove you can do it for less.

True, but you don't have to take girls from their bar. Get girls from outside just like any other hotel. BTW the BF is down after midnight, and the bar fine was designed to keep the el cheapos and riff raff out.

I think it drops to 1000 after 11pm or after midnight

I stayed there for a couple of nights recently. Great location. And very new / upscale.

Only problem was thin walls. Four Arabs in room next to me with loud mouths. Get the right room and it is a great place. Check out the roof top bar.

Point taken about the easy transport (compared to Pattaya which can be little more challenging) in BKK. But I wanted to stay in a place which has some advantage. Maybe near the discs (for freelancers) , right next to a Nuru Massage place or something like a river front property with easy transport (within 2500bht). Any suggestions? There are far too many hotels arnd to confuse anyone. Anyone with a feedback on Citadines on Soi Cowboy?
My first stay in Bangkok was at Livingstones Lodge in Soi33. That's still a great choice for a BKK first-timer:

    - Extremely girl friendly hotel with very friendly staff.

    - The hotel has its own sports bar with a dozen or so girls you can barfine.

    - You can chill out by the pool with a beer during the day.

    - Fits your budget exactly.

    - Walking distance to all the oilies in Soi24.

    - Walking distance to Emporium for shopping and dining.

    - Plenty of massage parlors in Soi 33 also, just outside the hotel door.

    - Walking distance to Skytrain, which brings you straight to Soi Cowboy (1 stop) or Nana (2 stops)

    - Easy taxi access to Soi Cowboy and Nana (although I prefer Skytrain)

You can even walk to Soi Cowboy, I have done this many times myself. According to Google Maps it is exactly 1 kilometer, which is a 15 minutes leisurely stroll.
