Posts: 348No balconies unfortunately, but I'm staying this trip at Sukhumvit Suites Hotel, right at the corner of Asok and Sukhumvit (near one of the Asok BTS entrances). Very convenient for Soi Cowboy and just a short walk from some other nearby attractions. Nana is easily walkable, but might be a bit far to walk if taking a lady back to your room unless she's willing to walk the 10-12 minutes and cross 2 main streets (Asok and Sukhumvit), so a cab or tuk-tuk might be a better choice in that case.

Nice hotel. I got the larger suite with a sitting area and separate bedroom. Good sized bathroom etc. Also, very girl friendly. Haven't had any issues bringing girls back. The elevator is right inside the door on the 1st floor, but reception is on 2nd. There is usually but not always a security guard or other person at the door / 1st floor sitting area, but have never had a problem just going to the elevator and going to floor 3 and directly to my room. I forget the rate I paid, but it was reasonable at < $100 USD per night.

Just wondering if there are any hotels by Soi Cowboy or Nana that have balconies. The closer to Soi cowboy and Nana the better. Budget is almost 3500 baht per night also must be a GF hotel.
Thanks.

Its not that I have something to hide, nor is it the hotel staff, as this type of activity is normal in BKK and how they stay in business. One of the reasons is as Syzgies mentioned, there are so many families in these hotels, and I know people are different, but for me I'm just not comfortable with it, especially the next morning during breakfast. Why a family would vacation with young children in Soi 4 is beyond me.
The main reason is because the world is now truly a global village and I'd hate to run into someone I know who is there for vacation or for the same reasons as me while I'm waiting to register my guest. Also, so many people are now making youtube videos of their experiences and in this digital age I would hate to be caught in one of them, don't see how they can't see making these vids public can be very problematic.
Having stayed at VT6 in Pattaya, though it is more than what I need and more pricey than I would like to pay, the peace of mind I get with a quick and discreet in and out is worth the extra cost.
Thanks again, will be looking at Silq and Shama.

Posts: 90Also can depend a lot on the time. At T21 hotel for example they usually don't bother before 8 PM. 8 pm-11/12 they usually ask discreetly if 'everything okay sir'? Afterwards they usually want you to leave her ID at reception. But they are nice about it. As it's a big hotel It's less awkward then some other small ones.

Personally, I always bring her to the reception desk and at the very least reception checks her ID.

Registered guests are officially staying at the hotel. The hotel has their name registered to the room. They have signing privileges (charge things to the room) and can request room access, ect.
Joiners are visitors at the hotel. They are visiting a registered hotel guest. Leaving ID lets the hotel know the joiner is on the property and which room they are likely in.
Hotels have different joiner policies, and handle joiners differently. Some physically keep their ID and some make a copy. Some will do this at the front desk or at the security station which can be located at the elevator bank. They will check the ID to see if it is real, and that the lady is age appropriate for their policy. Some hotels will restrict the number of joiners, the hours they can visit, ect. Some are quite strict on their policies, and some are quite lax.

Your Pattaya cadre were either inexperienced punters, or were possible looking to work around codified social norms.

I don't feel the walk of shame when there are so many customers with young Thai ladies for one reason or another. I would be much more self conscious if was with a ladyboy or a girl obviously too young. Hypothetical since I don't do that.
If staying with GF, I choose a different Hotel.
How many families are staying in Hotels very close to Nana Plaza and why? Taking a girl back to your room late at night, you are not likely to encounter families with young kids.
I do recall having the hots for a receptionist at Dynasty Grande some years ago, but out of my league, especially, having been seen with hookers. The staff would not be allowed to fraternise with guests in any case, even if there was the slightest chance they wished to (no chance in hell).
I have heard of Farangs marrying girls working at the Hotel they stayed at in Pattaya, but that was definitely Farangs not with hookers. I don't think it is common.

Silq in Suk Soi 19 it was possible to enter elevator and skip reception, when I stayed there. Again cannot guarantee current rules. You could ask the hotels directly if checking girls IDs, nationality, age, etc. Is manadatory in the current political climate.
I can see that renting an apartment could overcome the rules. Not sure if security guards are ever checking anything about guests.
