    Grand Sukhumvit

I am staying at the Grand Sukhumvit (managed by ACCOR) for a short stopover in BKK next month. I have seen varying reports about how whether the hotel is girl friendly and even mention a few years ago of a joiner fee. Anyone got any recent experience at this hotel?

You might have picked the wrong ethnicity.

Being a regular Customer at majestic grande I can only recommend it. It is right in The scene, GF friendly and take care of guests in that aspect, a breakfast that fits any diet, spacious rooms.

And finally, how bad is the walk of shame in these hotels? Meaning, are they occupied by mostly families? Thank you for any info you can provide.

For me soi11 is a great soi, you can walk to Nana Plaza or soi Cowboy. BTS Station is just outside the soi on Sukhumvit road. You have everythings you need: Bars, disco, restaurant, massage, BJ bar, go-go, freelancers, ecc.

Man, that is BS. Using your logic, since men don't generally share a room or a bed in the US or Australia, for example, there should be less man on man stuff, as you refer to it?

Any inference, based on your kind of logic, would have to also be consistent with the facts / data on a worldwide basis.

Anyway, I call BS on your thinking. And FYI I have nothing against gays (many of them are great and highly talented) but I am and always will be 100 straight, since I don't have the predisposition hard coded in me biologically. So, my comments are just about the facts, data and logic.

I never stayed or bothered to check a room.

This may not be of concern to you Nix but it's a heads-up just in case it is.

Thanks for all the advice. Just noted that my booking at the Ambassador is non-refundable. I do have to say that the majority of reviews on the Ambassador on Agoda are from UK, European and US travelers. I will make the best of it.

Ambassador Hotel is a toilet. Find somewhere else.

Great location but the hotel has been in need of a renovation for a long time. If it has been upgraded recently then it would be ok. I would stay at Grand President on the same soi about 300 meters away. Grand Prez rooms should be nicer than Ambassador. Aloft, also on Soi 11, would be even nicer but pricier. Soi 11 is a great place to stay.
