Well, sometimes I am looking for a change. Nothing to do with budget. Well, on the other hand, the extra dough is good for an extra session.
Also, it is quite useful to have some database of info, in case a friend asks.
LL is quite excellent and have nothing but praise for it. But it has its pluses and minuses like any place.
And yes, I do not give a shit what people think, unless they are paying for my hotel.

1/33 Sukhumvit Soi 11 (Soi Chaiyot)
Bangkok Province
Tel: (02) 253 5927

Description
Comprised of a rambling collection of wooden and concrete buildings hidden down a Sukhumvit Soi 11 subsoi, Suk 11 is one of Bangkok's top backpacker guesthouses. Friendly English-speaking staff and comfortable, reasonably quiet rooms make this an ideal spot to relax in one of Bangkok's most vibrant areas. The rooms are clean, though basic and all rooms include breakfast. The common area and open-air cafe on the sub-soi are ideal for mingling with other guests. Reservations are usually required -- particularly in high season. Recommended.

Perhaps you are asking on behalf of some friend?

From an article in CNN.com
"......In Bangkok's prime residential area of Sukhumvit Road, one budget option is Suk 11, a quirky guesthouse legendary among backpackers, where the halls have been remade with creaking wooden planks and hanging lanterns to look like old Bangkok alleyways. A bed in a clean, air-conditioned dorm room starts at 250 baht (US$7.50)........."
Anybody know exactly where this is, or stayed there? Just curious.

Can anyone let me know if this hotel is girl friendly. I am actually debating to either go here or the Grand Hyatt. I typically stay at Grand President but the guys i am going with insist on statying at either of the 2 mentioned. I ned to make some serious plans if I will not be able to have a girl for either ST or preferably LT.
Thanks

I hate the wishy washy terminology of "girl friendly".
I ALWAYS book a Double for two regardless of my intentions. So i would have little or no trouble at Tai Pan it seems. However I would probably prefer Livingstone's Lodge because its only 5 mins to Soi Cowboy by taxi through the back Sois. Its even walkable distance in good weather (almost 1 km) and I need the exercise.
