I saw it from the taxi when returning from Bangkok Cozy through the back Sois. So I'll give it try soon.

    Mick,

Are there any Korean MPs or similar establishments with Korean girls?

I used to live in LA, where the MPs are/were totally in Korean hands. The Korean girls gave great massages, but because the police were cracking down on them, it was difficult to get any sex, at least not on the first visit.

On the second visit, even though not a word was said, using obvious signs, you were offered almost anything. Sometimes and totally without warning, you were given a rim job. (Not before the third visit). It meant that her backdoor was available too. So patience paid off! I love Korean ladies!

On the left side is "Las Casa Trattoria/Pizzeria" The food there has been superb every time, and not many Italian restaurants impress me.
    I normally order fish.

Meanwhile the "Seafood Palace" nearby is a rip off (well very expensive anyway).

Hey Cactus J! Don't take it personnel as everyone goes on first impressions when they go to a country out side of the US. A lot of stuff you see there you may not see here in the states right off, like the bug carts on the streets of Bangkong or Pattaya. Well I guess you're never see them here!!! LOL And of course, I wouldn't blame you if you don't eat the bugs!!! LOL If you see a lot of locals going to a restaurant then you're pretty much assured that it's ok to eat there! Heck! I've seen rats in San Francisco and Los Angeles! And I've heard that the ones in New York City are huge!

Does anyone know the GF situation at the Park Hotel across from Soi 7 Biergarten? What are their nightly rates these days?

What about the Swiss Park Hotel in Soi 11?

Another I've stayed at in the past is Honey Hotel, soi 19.

Or if anyone has other ideas of a decent place in this price range (800-1900 or so), I'd love to hear it. I seriously doubt there's anything acceptable for as little as 800 these days, so probably toward the high end of that spectrum is better.

I once made the mistake of staying at the Miami, so I want to avoid a place like that -- dirty, seedy, old, run down, tv not working well enough to actually watch it, AC barely working, etc.

    Thanks

Planning to move from Dynasty Inn Grande since they rates seem to going up higher and higher since I stayed there 1.5 years. Thai food is ok, nothing to shout about at Dynasty.
It's an 8-10 minute walk from the CitiChic to Sukhumvit and the Nana BTS stop.
It's 8 minutes walk from the CitiChic to the Soi 7 Biergarten, cutting through the parking lot of the Park hotel.

I did the same - IMHO,the Dynasty Grande is now at least 2680 vs 2300 for the CitiChic - but the Dynasty has a MUCH better pool and somewhat better workout room. Rooms are comparable, but the CitiChic is trendier - breakfast is included at the CitiChic, not the Dynasty Grande, and the CitiChic has free internet PCs in the lobby.

IMHO, if they cost the same, I'd stay at the Dynasty Grande - for the pool and the location. For 400 or so more/nt, it's a close call.

    Courtyard Marriott Hotel review

Location: good for shopping & business. Close to 2 Skytrain stations: Rajadamri (5-10 mins walk or free tuk-tuk) or Chitlom (10-15 mins walk). Not much of interest within immediate walking distance, unlike Sukhumvit. You can walk to Sukhumvit in about 30mins if the weather is good.

Hotel services: room v good, gym v good, pool average, service discreetly excellent. Ordered condoms through room service at 3am and they arrived within 5mins. Food good and v reasonably priced. Only 1 restaurant. No executive room for Marriott Gold/Platinum members. Internet is chargeable.

    Price: $134 w/o breakfast through Marriott web site;

$106 incl breakfast via asiaroom (but no Marriott reward points).

Nightlife: none in hotel. Spassos in Hyatt Erawan is the only nearby option, although Patpong, CM2 and Sukhumvit are walkable when it's not humid. Otherwise it's the Skytrain; Patpong only 1 stop away. Absolutely no problem bringing guests back.

The cheapest of the 3 Marriotts in town, so a good option for racking up the Marriott reward nights. But not the best location.

    Nice Italian Restaurant

Have to recommend a nice restaurant I have eaten at several times.
Between Soi 10 and 12 there is a square full of Korean restaurants and korean shops, very close to Times Square building and Asoke BTS station.
