You have made me very curious with your remark about the "Better yet are the hidden-away places" Can you tell us a little more about that?

I first came to Chiang Mai for yoga practice. There is an excellent, fairly advanced studio in the old city run by an American I now know well. I have been coming to Chiang Mai for 5-7 or 8 weeks every winter for 10 years, except one due to the lockdowns. I am also interested in the history and enjoy exploring temples and older neighborhoods outside the old city. Wanting to explore the erotic world, I learned about Chiang Mai Locator (http://www.chiangmailocator.com/). There is a "Male Entertainment" section. If you sign up for a membership, I think $8 for a year, there is good information. You will find that there are many places that cater to Thai men, and you must speak some Thai to go there. This means that there is likely no English spoken. Walking around checking out some of these places, there are sometimes other places nearby that are more foreigner-friendly, but as I said, fairly hidden away, not in the main tourist areas.

Inside the old city (or as said here, inside the moat), because of high tourism and wanting to be family-friendly, it is HIGHLY unliklely that you will get ANY erotic ending to a massage (after all these years of coming here, I have never heard of erotic endings in the old city). And along Loi Kroh (which is outside the moat), many of the shops are legit-only, too, or HJ-only. As I said, start out exploring Kanphaengdin Road, or Thapae Road Soi 1. Then go south along Kamphaengdin Road to Sridonchai, and explore Sridonchai. Some of these shops will yield a very fun time. Then explore Kamphaengdin south of Sridonchai and you will find a couple of the "karaoke" places that cater to Thai men. BTW, there is NO karaoke there, that is just a ruse. They are basically take-away brothels, and the ladies are typically Burmese, Laotian, or Thai from the far north.

Another to check out. From the main road that comes into town from the airport and Central Airport Plaza, turn onto Hai Ya Road, and at night you will see several of the so-called "karaoke" places sometimes fairly well lit up. And there are a few masssage shops there, too that are more farang-friendly.

As I said, your mileage will vary. And as we all know, treating the ladies well goes a long way in getting extra service.

I'm in Chiang Mai now. Have been here many times. Loi Kroh Road is all about teasing. If you want a good foot massage, Nature Massage on Loi Kroh is the best. Most of the shops are non-erotic or HJ-only. Too many of the ladies on Loi Kroh have GPS, "golden pussy syndrome," wanting 1000 baht or more for a HJ. And most are not very skilled. I had similar experience in Hua Hin. Thailand culture is like other Asian countries in that once a woman is past a certain age, has children, been married, or has been with a western man, she is no longer considered desirable by local men. I hooked up with a 47 year old who had been married to a European man and had grown children. Talk about sex starved. Great times.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if any hotel in central Chiang Mai made an issue of it. Just make sure you've booked a room for two. I stayed in two places there. One high end, one more modest, and neither batted an eyelid.

As long as your squeeze doesn't scream "hooker", and you're not planning an orgy, what are they going to do? There are plenty of mixed Asian / Western couples around (of all varieties), so if you walk in with someone, so what? Often the people in the evening aren't the ones who were there when you checked in anyway.

Have been to Chiang Mai many times, will be back Dec 10. Do not know about the POR Thapae Gate Hotel. However, on Loi Kroh road (where most of the bars are located), there are at least two short time hotels. I do not remember the names, but they are there, well known, and fairly cheap; I recall about 500 THB per two or three hours.

I'm back from a trip to Thailand, and thought I would share some experiences.

Firstly, to explain what I am looking for. I'm a somewhat older guy, as my moniker suggests, and I am not necessarily looking for super young babes. It's just got to the age where that is less exciting (like being the experienced older man), and more plain creepy (like a Prince Andrew / Epstein type). The Plaza area is louder and brasher, with the ones on the road itself a bit more laid back (more my scene). Looking up and down, there was, as usual, a mix of the young, not so young, nice looking and kind of not so appealing, but plenty of choice, and not so many customers so lots of options.

I went into one, and ended up with a somewhat older, but still attractive older woman who actually spoke very good English. Decided to bar fine her (500 baht), and take her back for a short time (2000, probably could have knocked it down to 1500, but hey). Once in the room, passionate kissing, and soon she was riding me, and then, apropos nothing in particular, said "I think I want to come now", started some intensive grinding, and that's exactly what she did.
