On my trips sure it's not Bangkok but I've always found it enjoyably worthwhile mostly with visits to the massage shops and the odd encounter from the bars.

I enjoy the more laid back vibe of the place and rarely find the girls aggressive.

Agree with the need to check on what you're getting for your money and not paying upfront but that's holds true everywhere.
