Anyone been to a karaoke in CM recently? 2 years ago I had a good time at one but don't remember the name, just remembers that they had the best looking girls to me in one spot. Just jumped into a tuk tuk with girly pics all around and asked to go to a massage but ended up there. Had a line ID from one of the girls but I guess she closed it. Will be in CM later this month and want to see if I can find a good spot. I've heard some karaoke bars are a little risky on their tab record keeping. Read some other sites recommending cherry bay / bey, anyone been there?

I'm no expert on CM but enjoy my twice yearly visits. I've had good times at the massage shops and the odd hit at a soapy but finding anal, not something I'm particularly into, in my opinion will not be straightforward. You can request anything anytime anywhere but finding it at a soapy not very likely but go ahead ask the worse that can happen they will say no.

My suggestion would be to work the bars, buy some drinks, have a good time and let it be known this is what you are interested in and are willing to pay extra for. Then wait and see who steps forward. I feel there will be some working girls that do it but they most likely will not the prettiest or youngest.

My apologies people. It would appear that the Line IDs I provided in my original post for the CM Spa businesses have been deleted or edited out. I did not think about any conflict with sponsors etc perhaps or perhaps Line IDs fall under same category as an email address, or link to posts on other sites with photos, both of which are not permissible on the forum. In hindsight is my bad. And hence will not be able to provide business Line IDs.

I could provide physical address of some but this negates the basis of my post, to use the Line App to make arrangements or view choices first, in Thai language etc.

L live in CM been here since early 2013 on a retirement xtn. Have a live-in TG, but she is away on biz.

I'm not that big a monger in CM, although I have done a few from the LK bars. I don't usually go for the classic monger 'stunners' anyway, so the 'look-quality' is not really an issue for me.

Well, as no one yet has replied to you, I'l have a bash at it.

There are no price lists displayed in any Chiang Mai soapy so-called massage parlours.

I have heard of customers being charged from 1200 baht up to 3000 baht according to the moods of the papasans and how gullible they think a customer is. On average you should expect to pay around the 1600 baht mark, but as I said; the prices can vary greatly. These prices are meant to be for 90 minutes but I have rarely heard of anyone receiving that amount of time.

Do not expect services to be anything close to what is available in Bangkok and Pattaya. Usually no massage involved, mechanical fast and furious service with plenty of tissues involved. If BJ offered at most times the girls will insist over a condom, no BBJ. Beware if the girl offers you a second condom for a second pop, as for a second pop you will be charged double the price you were first quoted.

I have read a few good reports and bad reports regarding the CM soapies, but it's very hit and miss. All depends on your expectations. The least you expect, the least disappointed you will be.

Last week I visited the Leelawadee Thai Massage, which is almost opposite Chiang Mai Railway station.

On the Charoen Muang Road heading from the town towards the Super highway, turn right in the Rotfal Ally, which is the Road where the railway station is. Travel down a few metres and on the right you will see the Oasis Hotel. That is it, the lower front of the of hotel is the Leelawadee Thai Massage. You can check it out on Google Street View.

Walked in and there was one old lady and another lady in her early 40's playing with her kid, a little boy. Got quoted 350 baht for an oil massage. Said OK; and the early 40's lady left her kid with the old lady and took me to the back of the shop into a semi wooden room with a sliding door. She began the so, so massage and after 20 minutes asked me if I wanted boom, boom for 1000 baht. Feeling desperate I went for it. She undressed and had the body one would expect of a 40 odd year old woman who had a kid or kids. No kissing, as cold as ice, asked me not to make any noise and could hear the kid shouting and running about outside the door. Got the deed over with, gave her the 1000 baht and paid the 350 baht massage fee outside. The whole deal lasted about 45 minutes.

So there you have it if you fancy a quick quite bang with an unattractive middle aged woman in a dumpy old massage parlour.

I am just back from Chiang Mai where I stayed a week.

First of all, I am very pleased with my choice of hotel: Suriwongse on Loi Kroh road, right in the middle of the action. I didn't have to walk more than 200 meters to get to foxy lady or the girly bars.

The hotel is certified guest friendly: I brought back my catch and didn't stop at the reception desk.

It is easy to get some action but it clearly a much tamer atmosphere than Bangkok or even Phuket.

First stop, the "entertainment complex" : some good looking girls and I had a good time. I tried to barfine a cutie but she asked for 3000 THB for short time. I said I was ok for 1500 but not more and she countered with 2000. I refused and left.

Foxy Lady: huge disappointment. Two girls on stage, 4 sitting next to the podium playing with their phone, and three or four with customers (there were maybe 4 of us). An old dancer came to sit with me but I was not tempted in the least. A new set of girls started dancing and among them a looker with a perfect body. I asked for her to come to the waitress but she answered she was already with a customer. I didn't feel like staying any longer so I left without finishing my beer.

I went to Star Xix: once again, I was disappointed on arrival. 2 average looking girls on stage some others with the very few customers already there. Fortunately, a pretty one came to me, I bought her a lady drink and soon enough another one came: petite, very slim. I was quite happy but I was wondering if she was really interested because she kept coming and going (but not for dancing on stage). It was getting late and another cute girl arrived in the room, undressed in the corner and the girl who was with me said: "you like her, she's a wh_re" (at least that's what I understood). I said yes, so the girl sitting on my lap tells her to come and sit with us and 30 seconds later the new girl had her tongue in my mouth.

It was getting late and I finally barfined the last girl and we walked back to my hotel.

At uni they will usually hang out in the Thai bars / clubs in Santitham. Post univ the CEC / Boxing bars are littered with graduates some last ditch husband hunting at 30, or kids and father Thai shot through so again not many in their early 20's). Like most of Thailand late in the month when money is short sees numbers of part timers and Line availability pick up.

Freelance wise for me is just a big no no in CM. Along the eastern inside road of the moat you will see them sitting on benches from about 10.00 pm. Not the same as Nana parking lot at all, older, bigger, below average as you go north along that road you come to younger and very much dirtier girls (after Thapae Gate). Age would be an issue here and language ability and skill level. Strictly no no with it for me. Throughout the whole length maybe a dozen tops in number..

Around the same time of night the outside Eastern road of the moat becomes lady boy freelance groups. Maybe a dozen tops in number again.

Around 11.30 at night you get a few more freelancers on Loi Kroh, less than half a dozen I suppose. These are not bar girls (they are still at work and if need baht will negotiate at bar, or go Zoe or Yellow etc). Freelancing in CM they have a greater chance of being seen by coworkers and is just not a good look. Age, looks are working against these freelancers. CM bars do no have that high a standard so if a lady freelances only in CM (as opposed to getting a Line ID from a bar girl for a day time meet) I genuinely believe that there are problems to be avoided. They are basically predatory on drunks coming out of the bars and will hang around until they think no more will come (or it gets cold or raining). A few lady boys are in this mix / area as well.

To be fair I really do not go out to Zoe at all. If Techno / Rap / Trance etc, backpackers, DJs, dancing is your thing then by all means go and have fun with pick ups the secondary aim. It's a Backpacker Digital Nomad type place as far as I am concerned and for me that just puts me off. The other thing is that Zoe and Spicy were handy when the bars closed as they were open later (Spicy sometimes till sun up) so you had a lot of bar girls going to these places after finishing up at their regular workplace. If you are aged 50 or so upwards you will stick out in the crowd That does not happen at the moment for a few reasons.

Problem post junta is that CM were closing for along time at midnight (including Zoe and Spicy) but now most bars as well as Zoe and Spicy stretch out to 1. 00 am On Loi Kroh most nights you will see the police coming round at that time to check. There are some semi lock ins but no neon lights, doors drawn, music turned down or off type scenario. No one wants to (understandably) push the envelope. Arthur has correctly mentioned that the best years of CM as a mongering venue are well gone. You can have fun for sure, but if that is your sole reason for coming to CM then there are far better destinations.

Another reason it is low season so maximum girls descending on Zoe / Spicy after their job for minimum punters, not worth the effort. The bar girls might go there very occasionally for fun but they pretty much no that nomads and backpackers = no money. You do get a fair amount of youngish Thais from Farang geared hostels, guesthouses, fast food joints, restaurants going there for fun nights out dancing and chatting and taking selfies.

Another reason is that it is now the start of the rainy season in earnest so most girls / ladies will just kick off home if they have made enough money on lady drinks for the next days food. Financial planning is not a Thai bar girl attribute. Eating is.

I do not want to be down on the CEC / Boxing complex. I go there maybe once or twice a week, usually on Sunday at the moment when it is dead quite just to have a yack with a few ladies I have known for years. It is more or less a social visit not a mongering visit. Sundays and Saturdays the bars will have fewer girls and clients. Reason being is that the tourists are usually hitting the walking street markets that occur on these nights.

As far as Go Go venue is concerned, they are all within walking distance of each other (Spotlight a bit further out). Not really my scene. The venues are a lot smaller than Bangkok and once you have seen Bangkok clubs as far as standard of girls, number of girls, music, dancing, costumes, general attitude and professionalism. , CM clubs quickly lose any appeal. Some like Spotlight, some Foxy, Star XIX have never heard anything good about. Foxy would be my pick simply because it is a short walk from the CEC Boxing bars so if no joy you can double back to the bars. I am trying not to sound negative but in CM it is just not a case that a particular go go is "the" place to go. Much like the Spas (Sayuri / Pandora / Celeb) it is pretty much the same standard so I look at other factors like how to get there, what next, is it worth the travel time to A over be etc Go Gos have very few girls dancing most times single digits, a few layers of clothing, and shuffle more than dance as far as I am concerned. Again I have experienced the odd good night, as opposed to consistently good nights in Bangkok.

IF you are staying for a brief period like a week with no Thai language skills, at this time of year (raining and low season), I would generally stick to the CEC Boxing bars as you can wander from one to another easily, Foxy as a go go (or Spotlight a bit further walk) or Star XIX which is adjacent to the CEC Boxing bars but just not my scene (but again its a one minute walk if that for you to pop your head in so why not). Spa wise again there is no "the" place to go. Celeb wins for me as fixed price, not rushed, familiarity, no transport issues, enough of a selection through the day more so in evening after say 7,00 pm, Farang friendly no problem at all, papasans not pushy.

Mongers want different things as far as size, age, skin tone, PSE, GFE, language, silicone, bar theme, music style, volume etc and CM is just not big enough to cover all tastes. I actually enjoy going to the CEC Boxing bars but more to play pool, have a chat with a few girls, and just generally have a relaxing fun time. I am going to enjoy myself rather than monger (not that the two are mutually exclusive). I do have one Burmese 28 year old that I take out of there maybe once a week or fn. Not a stellar body but always fun with a great attitude, after a few drinks and she is well on the way to enjoying herself. Never had a problem with her. Stop at Tesco to pick up a few items for breakfast, romp at night, wake up romp in morning, she gets up showers and cooks breakfast, I get up shower and eat breakfast. Works for me.
