Thai Friendly and Thai Flirting dating sites

Tonight I decided to do some research on 2 of the most popular free Thai dating sites, Thai Friendly and Thai Flirting.

I have been a member of those sites for sometime.

On both sites I searched women in Pattaya of all ages. The majority of women in the Pattaya sections of all shapes, sizes and ages, were actively up for sexual encounters and what's more, they made it clear in their profiles of their intentions. Quoting themselves as freelancers, sideliners or straight to the point, and most give their Line I. DS and other ways to communicate with them. No BS, no having to play guessing games or ask for their contact details. Similar in the Bangkok sections, not as many as in the Pattaya sections, but still a lot to choose from.

Then I went back into the Chiang Mai sections. This truly is the opposite end of the extreme. Many women in the Chiang Mai sections have been on there for several years, I know this, first by seeing many familiar faces and some of the profiles that have comments, the comments are dated and really old. Most come across as being pure enough to be nuns in their profiles, with virtually no details about them or what they are seeking.

So what the hell is up with the Chiang Mai women on these sites? Are these women affected by some kind of puritan virus? I realise some may have struck lucky with Chiang Mai girls on those sites, as I have a couple of times, but overall it's pretty grim unless for guys seeking genuine relationships.

When in forums and blogs they describe Thai Friendly as the best site to meet hot sexy girls, which it probably is, but I'm sure they are not referring to the Chiang Mai sections. I am at a loss to understand it?

Some of you may have heard of the Can Do Bar, in Chiang Mai Land?

It was opened in 2006 as a: self-proclaimed "experimental. Dream bar" run by Empower Foundation. It's website says; the bar is owned and operated by sex workers. A vibrant energy packed the pub as girls performed skits, music blasted and girls danced a go-go with the poles, while friends brought bouquets of condoms welcoming the Can Do to its new home in Chiang Mai Land. I thought prostitution was illegal in Thailand? Apparently not, because there is a new bar strictly dedicated to it right here in Chiang Mai. The "Can Do" Bar's grand opening on Friday. 16 September 2006 stood as not only a new Chiang Mai night spot, but as a stronghold for sex workers throughout Thailand.

So yesterday (2012) for the first time I decided to seek out the Can Do bar and give it a try. Arrived there after getting lost a couple of times at around 8. 00 pm.

It's a small nondescript place, one blink of the eye and you've passed it. Outside, there are two sets of round tables with chairs. One table was empty and on the other sat 2 middle aged Australian women with one of the bar girls and I plonked myself down on the second table. The Thai manageress came out and was very jolly and welcoming. She welcomed me as a first timer and then I ordered a beer. Then an attractive young girl about 19 years old joined me at my table. I've struck gold here I thought.

Went to look inside the premises. It has a small long bar, a few tables and chairs and a pool table. There was no music playing, no poles that I could see and no other customers as the manageress told me that the 2 Australian women are the bar owners. They were having a good time, appeared slightly drunk. Then I offered to buy the girl at my table a drink and then the manageress asked if I could buy her a drink also and I agreed. The manageress spoke perfect English but the girl at my table hardly spoke a word of anything but she was quite friendly and pleasant in her own sort of way, just a bit shy probably.

After about 30 minutes of some drinking and a bit of jollying around, I asked the manageress if I could take any of the 2 girls she had there out? The manageress replied; sorry no, these girls don't go outside as they're new, but I can make a phone call to a friend who you can take out. OK I said, and then asked for some details. How much? Don't know. How old? In her early 40's and she can be here in half an hour. I thought about it and told the manageress; I will think it over and maybe for another evening. Then I said my goodbyes and left.

Later I thought, if the Can Do Bar is suppose to be a bar dedicated to the sex workers, but the sex part is a non event, than the name of Can Do should be changed to Can't Do and rather defeats the reasons for going there. It appears all they serve is drinks and chat and although there is no food served at the Can Do, the drinks were not over priced. A large LEO beer. 80 baht and lady drinks. 60 baht, plus everyone there was friendly and I never felt pressured.

Maybe I went on the wrong night at the wrong time and really should have asked the manageress some more questions, but for some reasons I didn't. Perhaps I just wasn't very impressed?

I did get the Can Do phone number and next time will phone first to inquire if there are any available girls. Maybe will get lucky?

It would be great if any of you could also check out the Can Do Bar to see if you obtain any better results and then report on here?

UPDATE. I haven't bothered to visit since. But I have driven past and it still seems to be there.

Directions: Travelling out of the town down the Chang klan Road, turn right into Chiang Mai Land. On the centre part of the road you will see a big yellow elephant. The Can Do Bar is on the opposite part of the road as part of a row of shops behind the elephant. That was 2012, don't know if the yellow elephant is still there or not.
2 years ago I sent a pm to the Can't do bar on facebook asking; do the girls go out with customers? Did not receive a reply.

Last week sent another message, the same. No response. Go figure.

I`m guessing that this place is solely a hostess bar, where customers buy drinks and the girls just sit with them. Very much doubt any of the girls are takeaways. Unless anyone knows different?

    Spotlight.

Any girl recommandation in spotlight new location?

Also, would anyone here have an idea on how it works in this bar with barfine and lady drink? I mean if I pay a barfine, would the girl get part of the money or nothing? If I pay a ladydrink, would the girl get some money on it?

Sorry for the newbie question, but I know it is not everywhere the same in thailand.

    Thanks!

Guess I'll answer my own question. I walked by Celeb tonight (Wednesday) at about 10:45 pm and it is still open. I went inside to find 11 very disinterested girls sitting behind the glass. I realize this is not a great time to visit. None of them smiled or looked at me. Only one of the girls was potentially doable but l wasn't interested. I'm going to Bangkok tomorrow and I know I can do better there.

Google maps still shows them as permanently closed.

As a newbie could you give me some tips about finding the action in Thailand? Last time I was in Chiang Rai I went into a Shackhouse Karaoke with LED light outside the door and I just ordered some food (I am newbie and not sure if have any action there so dare not ask something special). Unfortunately, The girls there didn't sit with me or advise me any something special. But they sit and talked with a group of 2-3 Thai guys (Maybe the Thai local returning customers).

I would like to know if this kind of place have something special?

I will visit Chiang Mai and explore it again next month.
There is plenty of action in Pattaya, and in Bangkok loads of women advertising themselves on craigslist. There is a thriving sex industry in Chiang Mai but mostly reserved for Thais, Farangs rarely can get in for a piece of the action. For westerners CM is simply not a mongers destination, not any more, anyway. All that's available has been well covered in this thread.

These places are not Farang friendly, that are concerned about bringing too much attention to themselves from the police and probably why you were given attitude. Tried it once some years ago, wouldn't bother going again.

Remember don't give money to the pimp before you choose your girl. The first time I went there (I can speak very basic thai), I gave money to pimp before chose my girl, they send me a very bad attitude granny and what the fuck.

    CM Brothel.

These are of poor quality compared with the Gogo bars in Bangkok and Pattaya. Very tame and these days mostly frequented by young backpackers, their girlfriends and young tourist groups on a night out.

The last time I visited Star Six the only 2 girls available for take out quoted me 2000 baht short time, plus 600 baht bar fine. I dared not ask how much for long time. I offered 1500 for short time plus 600 baht bar fine, but they wouldn't budge on the price. I guess the other 2 bars will charge roughly about the same. A friend told me that last year, after several years, he decided to visit the Spotlight. Was quoted 6000 baht for long time plus 600 baht bar fine. Needless to say; he finished his drink and left there alone, he's not been back since.

Also customers are expected to buy drinks and lady drinks even before any girls will agree to go out with them.

No nudity, no sex shows, not even a Hello, welcome, all banned by the police.

Some other points, I've heard the mamasan in Foxy Lady is very pushy to make customers buy drinks, and in all those bars sometimes girls will lead customers on to buy them drinks then make an excuse and refuse to go out with them. If having an eye on any particular girl, ask first if she's available as a takeaway and how much she charges before buying drinks. Some may demand payment upfront, don't fall for that old trick. There have been cases when girls have been paid and then done a disappearing act.

    Nimman.

    Hi all,

I'll be staying in the Nimman area (just near Maya lifestyle shopping centre). I know this area isn't where there's much action to be found. However, am curious to know if anyone has ever found a massage shop that offers happy endings in Nimman? Thanks, Krumlov.

    Update

I have been informed that the original Spotlight Gogo bar has closed down, and has moved somewhere nearby and seems to have been degraded to an ordinary beerbar.

Haven't checked this out myself yet, but if correct, this means there are now only 2 Gogo bars left in the whole of Chiang Mai, the Foxy Lady and the Star Six.
