It is possible these days to get a shag in Chiang Mai without having to visit a bar and going through the bar ritual of buying drinks and paying bar fines, or using one of those rip-off soapy massage parlours.

Speaking of Loy Krathong, is it confirmed to be on Nov 10th? I'm very keen on being in Chiang Mai for the big lantern release at Mae Jo. Anybody in Chiang Mai know when that is? I still haven't booked my flights yet because I'm afraid things may not go according to plan if the weather plays spoil sport!

What do you guys think of the wew Spicy disco? For me, I think it's a vast improvement. It seems to have the same crowd, but it doesn't stink as much as the old, dilapitated one. It's much newer, but perhaps it has lost some of the "tradition" (I can't say "charm") of the old Spicy. However, overall, it's an improvement to CM's after hours scene for farangs (2am-5am). It was really the only place for farangs after hours.

If you want to be in the heart of the action (what there is of it) I recommend Bauphong Lodge on Loi Kroh Soi 3. Very nice place, Chris a friendly Ozzie bloke and his Thai wife Noi run it. The lady the works the front desk is really sweet and smart.

Raming Lodge is not "dated". The place was only built 5 years ago.

I'm wondering about the attitude of hotels to punting in CM, which sounds a relatively conservative place. Are there ST hotels? And / or are conventional hotels generally girl-friendly?

You would have to work pretty hard to find a hotel. Particularly in the tourist area. That is not Girl-friendly. I have never encountered or come to think of it even heard of one. Thai culture is quite conservative in some ways but in others totally not it's a mix. Everyone knows what you are there for if you are in that area and no one is going to be the least surprised let alone offended when you show up with a girl, so don't sweat it.

Almost all of the hotels in downtown Chaingmai are very guest friendly, only proviso is that they may charge extra for your guests breakfast!

IMHO the Ramming Lodge although central to some of the action is a bit dated. Nearby alternatives such as the "M" hotel, or the I'm hotel offer better value and much better breakfasts. BUT book in advance online for the best prices!

Although the north end of Loy Kroh perhaps the greatest concentration of girlie bars in town, there is plenty of action in other areas around town for those looking for a change.

Please tell us where all this action is, in other areas around the town?

Besides a few skanky little bars in the Loi Kroh road, the well passed it`s sell by date Spotlite bar, the rippoff soapy massages and as already mentioned the rippoff Pretty club, what else is there?

I will be in Chiangmai for Loy Krathong 8. 11 November staying at Rainforest Boutique Hotel. I was going to take a DIA girl from BKK there but I haven't met her yet. From her pictures (we've been emailing) she looks quite nice, sexy, busty slim, just like I like. However, if this option does not pan out what is the likelihood of meeting a similar girl in CM? I read a few pages back in this thread and the reviews are mixed. Some say CM is dead for mongers. Others say not really.

CM is one place in Thailand I would consider living. Clean, good infrastructure, not crowded. I really like it. That being said, it is not a mongering destination. A few HJ in the MP's and a few bars on Loi Kroh with girls. There is a couple of unimpressive dance clubs behind the Meridien.

My suggestion is to meet a girl from one of the sites. You have already had luck with the BKK girl and I have seen plenty of cute girls from Chaing Mai on the various dating sites. There are lots of girls around, but most don't appear to be working. I am sure they would love to meet a stud like you.

some time ago i accidentally discovered the pretty club, elite massage from a thai newspaper advertisement.

last week i decided to give it a try.

not easy to find.

travel down the nimmanhemin road heading towards doi suthep. pass the kad suan kaew shopping mall that will be on your left.

about 3 kilometres passed kad suan kaew you will see a bangkok bank also on your left. turn into the soi where that bank is on the corner.

go down the soi until it comes to a dead end. there you will see a big garden and small car park. that's it, the pretty club.

this club is run entirely by students of chiang mai university as a means for them to pay their tuition fees.

a very tasteful rep001tering of buildings. not seedy in anyway. walk into the reception, where a nice young lady receptionist should greet you.

they all speak passable english, enough for you to communicate.

the lady explained to me the service and the price.

an oil massage and body massage. 799 baht 40 minutes. 999 baht 1 hour.

i agreed and then she called out a selection of a dozen girls for me to choose. everyone a stunner. 10 out of 10. ages from 19 to 21. not the usual old skank available in the town, this was good quality, the real stuff.

so i chose a girl and off we went into a nice room with shower, mirrors and a clock standing on small draw unit next to the bed.

first the girl went into the wc room to pamper herself up a bit, and then she stripped off all but her canvas shorts.

i lay naked on my stomach in the bed and the massage began. she covered me in oil and slid along my back backwards and forwards. great i thought.

then after 5 minutes everything began to change. the girl prodded me for my attention. she said here are the rules; no touching and the shorts stay on unless i pay her an extra 700 baht. being as i'the gone this far, i agreed. the girl then took off her shorts and she was completely naked. she was mouth wateringly gorgeous. so off we go again and this time she allowed me to feel her everywhere. but there was no kissing, no close contact and no intercourse allowed.

another 10 minutes passed and the girl decided to go to the loo. i noticed that she craftily took the clock with her so as i would not notice the time.

after the massage she followed this by giving me a hand job and she wasn't so good at that either. then into the shower where she gave me a wash down and that was that.

i estimated that in total the whole session lasted for 40 minutes, which cost me 1700 baht.

as far as i saw the situation it was a snifter of some decent pussy, somewhat like having the foreplay without the sex.

this has not deterred me from visiting the pretty club again and i wouldn't advise anyone else not to go either, only as they say; once bitten twice shy. so i advise that if you go, is to confirm what you get and for how much before entering the room with any of the girls.
