A FYI about a total scam bar in Chiang mai. Its called Together Karaoke or something, you can probably google for more info about this place! It was my first night in Chiang Mai ever, back in Feb 2018. After dinner and some bar hopping (nothing like BKK or Pattaya in terms of P4P scene or even otherwise), a tuk tuk guy took me to this place at around 2 am or something. In a couple of hours they racked up some several thousand baht.

The lesson is don't let Thai guys suggest a place for you and take you there. They get kick back commissions. Maybe only 1 in a 100 would be a totally honest suggestion.

RTFF is a better idea. Do your research.

In old days, if taking a taxi to a Soapy, I would tell the driver I am going to something else nearby. I did not want a price rise just because I arrived in a taxi and the driver would want commission. Arrive on motorcycle was usually safer.

Above all don't allow your driver to tell you your desired target place is closed and he has a better suggestion. Usually will be bullshit and taken to a place much worse. I found that even Thais tended to believe this scam when going to a restaurant.

I was just there in early August for 5 days. I have never run into any of the mentioned brothels in Chiang Mai, and from what I've read, I'm glad that I didn't give any of them a go. Seems like an ultra seedy experience. There are a handful (3) soapies, and I would give those a try. Sayuri is pretty inexpensive 1500-2500 baht and worth a go. You could have some lookers in there, or nothing much. It just depends on your timing. It's harder, and more expensive to get taxi's in Chiang Mai verses Bangkok. I wold download the Grab app if you want to take taxi's in Chiang Mai. If you are confidant on a motorbike, and have an international bike license; then I would suggest renting a motorbike to get around as it's quick and easy to park anywhere.

You are also in Nimman, which is a nice area for food and cafe's. But you are probably 10 min. From the center of most of the action in CM. Your other options are beer bars in the Loi Kroh Road. Area, and the the boxing complex beer bars on the same road. I hang out in beer bars because it's entertaining for me, but it usually takes some work to find a girl I would bar fine. There are some bars where you could pick up Freelancers, but I'll let you look those up yourself.

I've had most of my success finding girls on Thai Friendly. Last time I visited I started messaging a girl on TF while I was in the airport at Bangkok waiting to board my flight for Chiang Mai. I was meeting her for dinner and drinks that same night. She was staying in my room that night. I spent most of my week with her, even though I stopped by Sayuri, beer bars, and a massage parlour in my freetime. But I fucked the TF girl for free everyday. She was a pretty heavy squirter with huge tits for such a short girl. So I tried to get as much time in with her as possible. She didn't ask for any money, I just paid for food and drinks while we were together. So I bought her a drink and started chatting with her, apparently her regular was visiting from somewhere and was supposed to arrive any moment. However she introduced me to another much younger 8+ chick from Myanmar, recently arrived as I was told. I ended up bar fining her and also spent my remaining next two evening / nights with her, she would come directly to meet my at the hotel and then we would go dining whatever. She asked for LT 2700 but I would give her 3 K as I liked her attitude. We even went to a popular disco and it was crowded, although I could hardly spot any WGs there FWIW, just the local young crowd it seemed.

So what the hell is up with the Chiang Mai women on these sites? Are these women affected by some kind of puritan virus? I realise some may have struck lucky with Chiang Mai girls on those sites, as I have a couple of times, but overall it's pretty grim unless for guys seeking genuine relationships.

Thai women in general aren't as interested in Farang as some would like to think. Outside of those who make their living from Farang money most Thais just aren't interested. Even when they are they face huge social pressures from parents, family, friends and even strangers. That's really true outside of places like Pattaya and Bangkok.

That said, if you speak Thai it's not hard to pick up in Chiang Mai at all. I've heard if you don't speak it that it's really tough though. A friend of mine was there for months before he finally got a girlfriend. When I met her I instantly realized she was an Isan transplant living in Chiang Mai!
