I spent 10 days in Chiang Mai back in November, and I'm only now writing this because I just signed up to the forum. The first six days I stayed at Hotel Montha. I highly recommend it at $19 per night, guest friendly, and very nice clean rooms. The other four nights were at Duangtawan Hotel, which was also nice and guest friendly, but it was $50 per night so Montha was a much better deal.

As for mongering, I got four oil massages at 250 baht, and all but one pressured me into HJ with no offers for anything else. The first two were great 45 massages, they asked about HJ, haggling, ending up at 1000 baht including the massage. The last one was two girls as I was drunkenly walking back to my hotel at 3 am, 750 baht each, 30 minute massage, HJ, tits out, groping.

I had mixed results with bar girls. The first night I was there I went out right at midnight when everything was closing, so I didn't have many options. I had the best experiences at Absolute Paradise Spa. This is a body-to-body oil massage place with 90 minutes at 1400 baht for most girls, 1600 for some, or 2000 for two girls, all including HJ. I went there four times, and I wish I had gone more. They bring out a lineup of all of the girls working at the time. I think there were 6, 3, 5, and 1 girls the times I went. Mostly all the massage parlours in and around the city are offering HJs now, that's because business has become so bad that the staff need to provide extras to supplement their low incomes. In the Loi Kroh Road I've had reports of female staff demanding 1500 baht for a so-called quicky massage and HJ and some are quite aggressive, if not wanting a HJ the girls soon lose interest in the massage and many refuse to take no for an answer. So I stay well clear of those places.

They're all a much of muchness, meaning roughly about the same. They all have mixed reviews, no standard pricing, heard of customers being changed from 1200 baht to 3000 baht depending on how much they think a customer will pay. The service is fast, furious, mechanical and rarely is there any massage involved. Lookers are few and far between. Suppose to be a 90 minute service but no one ever gets that. Celebs used to be located at the Chiang Mai 2000 hotel that was so, so.

The Sayuri is meant to be the most popular, but I've heard they really try it on with the prices in there, also as it's busy, the odds are the girl you'll choose will have already been poked by several cocks before it's your turn and won't have much enthusiasm.
