I have seriously looked and clicked on everything and nothing let's me change their name. I would have been happy with that much from the beginning. There's a search button, a call button, and then a button that pulls up other options. None of those option allow for name change and clicking on the name doesn't give me the chance either.

Maybe it's related, but nobody can add my line, I always have to add them. I thought maybe it was because I didn't have an actual Thai phone number or something, but maybe I have an old version or the iPhone version is different?

You can change on iPhone.

In a conversation chat with them, click on their picture on left hand side.

It will bring up their profile picture page.

In the centre under their profile photo, on the right hand side of their name should be a little pencil icon.

Click on that and it brings up a "Change Friends Name" screen.

I always then position my cursor at the very left and in front of their name, and then type in their nickname, leaving their LINE name on the end behind the nickname that I've added.

As to them adding your LINE, you possibly have the option set that stood them doing so.

Are you adding by name or phone number?

If so, instead try having them add you by scanning your LINE QR code.

Last word of advice or smart cheat that helps here.

I always try and add them, rather than let them add me.

I get them to enter their name, or preferably number, then I add them, and take a quick screenshot of their name / number.

I then save that away in contacts with their names.

This girls way too often lose their phone or upgrade, and when they do that they lose all their contacts.

So if o have their name or number I can check and see if they haven't answered me because they're changed phones.

I do so by adding their name and number again, and see if I get a new LINE account.
