Thinks for giving history my first encounter was 2009 ish so was still good. Even 2011 and latest 2019 but I never expected what I saw now. The best in my early days is that they had two shifts. Early day and night. Beach first and then cool down in Rock hard. Many bottles was consumed there!

There are no street life hook ups like Pattaya in Kata.

If you're looking for Kata Beach hotels on the water or close to it, then get one on the northern end, the Karon end, as that is where the night life is.

The southern end of Kata is pretty much devoid of nightlife punting opportunities.

I'm used to walking around while travelling, so a 1 - 2 km walk at once is quite doable. I'm more concerned about safety.

1. Any likelihood of getting mugged / robbed while you are walking along an isolated path?

2. What are the chances of a stray car or motor cycling crashing in to you? Are the main roads around Rawai well lit at night?

I know you probably can't put a likelihood, but has this kinda of thing happened before or happens regularly?

I see myself walking up and down Soi Saiyuan, or inbetween Bank Bar, Laguna Plaza & Vijitt Resort at night.

The walking is generally safe, with the cahnace or mugging very very low, and I've never heard of it either in Rawai.

For me, the major risk you face being traffic seeing you as street lighting is minimal.

From Vijit to Laguna is very safe to do, tho I'the be more concerned about Vijit to Bank, or Bank to Laguna later at night.
