I have to say I find the BF's in Phuket quite extortionate, which is why I've never taken a bar girl home. I opt for freelancers.

I agree. It's fucking ridiculous. I know most of the girls are not making the bar 2,000 baht a night, but that's the fee to take them out. If a girl wants a day off, she has to BF herself the same price. Also most girls don't get BF until a few hrs into their work where they've prob already been making the bar some $$.

BF = Bar Fine. The standard amount payable to the bar to take the girl out. Fees for services provided by the girl are negotiated separately.

If you are travelling to Thailand and you are unaware of the BF / Lady Drink / fees protocol, I highly advise you google how it all works. It's simple enough but it really is a tried a tested process which you should know before you arrive. There's no getting around it and knowing in advance will save you time and ensure you have a a smoother and more fun experience.

I have the same situation coming up. Traveling with older friend and I won't be taking her to the guy bars! Thanks for asking the question and will have to check out the hotels mentioned.

I'm not sure if this thread is the correct one because its a mix of both and I read 3 years in the past but did not find enough information for my problem.

My situation is that I will travel with a married pal of me to Patong in November. We booked a room together to have more BHT to burn and I bet we will burn some BHT in a good and in a bad way.

So as I mentioned he is married and does not support or is understanding enough to allow me to bring a "girlfriend" back to our room, (even if I did it will cost 1000 BHT Joiner Fee) which I can understand.

My problem is, if I find a good looking Girl and the price for the night is good where do I go with her?

I thought maybe it is possible to do a midnight / early morning check in (11:30 PM-2:30 AM) for example in the Sea Cono or ACCA Hotel or every other clean girlfriendly Hotel until 9 AM, schould be enough time for boom boom.

Is this a good solution for my problem or do I have to rely on the Soi Seadragon Guest Room, which I don't know if it is clean?

I was about to reply actually, Gunners, to tell you this but to just call and check as it may have changed. If you'd like a really excellent hotel in Patong which is GF, I highly recommend Indigo. It is Intercon's boutique brand and I have recommended it here previously. Great restaurant on site, coffee club right outside downstairs and the rooms are excellent. Much better than the photos suggest.

I'm a fan of newer hotels, which this is, and you know you are getting some quality when you go with the bigger chains.

Thanks for the update I'm heading out to Patong Dec 25th and was wondering if you had any idea about on the bar fine rates at Suzy and Harems? How much do girls generally charge for ST or LT?

From March:

I called them up today and the guy in reservations at the millennium hotel said they charge joiner fee of 1500 THB per night per person.

This is in spite of me booking the room for 2 persons.

Well I won't be staying there for sure.

Book the room for two people. If not sure ask them if they allow guests by email / phone. Personally I always book for two and overall never have any issue.

Went to nida first, but it was dead at 10. The girls were all just sitting around and there were a lot of them.

Next, made it to Suzy. Still around 10 and the place was packed. The place is much dimmer compared to the last time I was there in March. They have Chang beer for 89 b. I remember it being around 160 in Mar. I guess they might have felt pressured to lower their prices since most of the other go gos are doing cheap beers. The place just had too people and to my surprise the girls here are not better looking than some of the other go gos. I found from an ex-Suzy Wong girl that both harem and SZ are owned by the same person and they are really strict at the girls. While I was there, my Thai friend heard over the mic "#39, why are you not smiling? -100 b" and later heard "girls on stage, when you dance you need to dip it low. " From what I hear there's lots of little deductions on the girls. I guess this is why SZ and harem are so popular. The girls has to put on a happy face and always selling. Some of the girls are making 100 k a month just off LD.

Heard of another go go in Patong on a different street. It's on a side street across from the video game place.

It's a shitty location. It's toward the end of the street and it's the only bar on that street. Idk how people know of this place, but there were a few people in there on a weeknight. I counted 15 girls and 2 were def my type. The LD was a bit cheaper at 220 and BF was 1 k with rooms upstairs like Nida. I only had 1 beer and then left.

My friend wanted to go to Tiffany's. I've never liked this place and this time was not different. None of the girls are my type. Only went to accompany my friend.

Plan to check out some other gogos and will update.
