How long ahead of time does a guy need to book a flight to Phuket from BKK? Would prefer waiting until I'm in country and check out the Big City before deciding on Pattaya next or straight to Phuket.

If you book in advance, you can find OW tickets for USD $8 or $9 on Vietjet or Air Asia. With short notice, you can usually get fares for $40 to $60. I once wasn't sure when I wanted to fly to Bangkok so I purchased two tickets for $11/ each. For a one hour flight, this is a VERY inexpensive fare.

You can book in the same day, at the moment there are always seats available, but be prepared to pay a little bit more than if you book 3-4 days in advance.

2000 LT is cheap! And from what I read in this subforum, most Pattaya girls offer BBFS so 2000 is really cheap!
