So decided to move to Rawai with the missus as we're a little tired of Phuket Town, but now it means I have to make a long journey to Katherines Massage, which I wouldn't be able to do too often now.

Flight may be an hour but add on 1.5 to 3 hours taxi round trip from Pattaya or BKK, 1.5 to 2 hours taxi round trip in Phuket, 2 hours total wait time at the airport assuming you are arriving exactly only 1 hour pre-flight. Possibly 2 hours wait at 2 immigration lines. 2.5 hours round trip flight to Phuket. That's over 10 hours travel time for 1 night in Phuket.

Is it worth it to go to Phuket on a Monday? My plan is to spend 3 days in Bangkok, then go to Phuket on Monday, then 3 days in Pattaya. If Monday's suck there I'll probably spend an extra day in Bangkok or Pattaya.

You can have a good time in Phuket on Monday but it is not worth going there for only one day. It will take an hour to get to an airport in Bangkok, and you should get to the airport one hour early. The flight is about an hour. From Phuket Airport to Patong is 45-90 minutes depending on how much you pay. A private taxi would cost B800 but get there quicker. You will spend at least four hours getting to Phuket.

Skip Phuket this trip and spend the extra day in Bangkok or Pattaya.

All days in Patong are OK. But that's a 6 hours travel, and there is no need to go to Patong if you're not in for a combination of beach and party. If it's girls you look for, speed an extra day in Pattaya.

Is most hotels in Phucket not girl friendly with out a charge? Never heard of anything like that in Pattaya at all. Whats another option besides summer breeze that's close to action? Hard to see how some nice hotels are 25 USA looks like and some go to 70 us plus how it differs so much. Thanks.

The majority are, especially in Patong, just make sure you book for 2 people. For instance, the Beyond Hotel is excellent for a mid range, around THB 2000 per night, but if you book single occupancy they will charge you 1000 for the joiner. It's easy enough to call and ask the places, it's a familiar question to them and you shouldn't be embarrassed to ask.

I can recommend:

The Crib. THB 1000.

At Patong. THB 1000.

Silk Hemmingways. THB 1300.

Beyond. THB 2000 - 2500.

All close to the action.

Hi there, just got back from Phuket last week. My 3 friends stayed at the GIG; I stayed at Absolute Bangla Suites as I wanted more upscale. I did see all of my friends rooms, and they were decent sized, looked clean, had a large bath. They were very pleased with their stay. The hotel is newer and in great condition. There is great rooftop infinity edge style pool and sauna on the roof. Definitely this is a great value hotel for those looking to spend under 50 dollars per night. I would even consider staying there.

If Viet is your scene I suggest you head to Singapore. Ipenema club 1st floor in the Four Floors of *****s building will get you more Viet girls than you can handle SGD $250 - 300 for ST is the going rate.
