Whether things are open or not isn't much of a issue when you cannot enter Thailand as a tourist seems to me like putting the cart before the horse, and if you already are in Thailand you should have a whole black book of contacts that you wouldn't need bars.

I took a regular gal of mine to a curtain hotel a few weeks ago. A first for me. When the attendant came to collect the fee for our VIP room (indoor bath, secluded patio shower), I let him keep the change from a 1,000 note for the 700 b room because I knew that I was about to get laid for "free", and I appreciated the efficient and discreet service these guys offer.

He brought a couple of extra bottles of water that were very much appreciated.

I once had a US 20 in my wallet and was pretty intoxicated. I gave the old lady at WhatsUp club the $20 thinking it was 20 baht. All she does is hand out reused small towels to dry your hands. Funny thing is that I normally give her 20 baht tip. This time I made a mistake and did not discover it until morning. She didn't even hesitate to alert me of my mistake. Don't trust some them when it comes to money.

20-50 baht in Thailand is a huge tip. I can't imagine tipping that much to a bathroom attendant. If a bar owned bathroom was beautifully maintained, I might tip 5 or 10 baht.

A small (5 baht) toilet fee is common in some areas and you pay upon entry. I always keep a few coins in my pocket for that purpose.

Also, some of the public toilets you have to pay to use. I was surprised to see that.

Those BJ bars are still about 700-900 baht for BJ. I've only seen BJ booths at Kasalong and Lolita's, no bigger rooms. At least some of the BJ bars near Wood have separate larger rooms with a filthy bed and crappy private shower and toilet. They typically charge about 1500 baht for a package deal (mutual shower, brief massage, BJ, sex, and another shower). Most of the girls in those places do not look good enough to fuck, but a few do (very few).

If I had only 1500 baht to spend for sex in Bangkok, I would spend it on a freelancer. I do not recommend BJ bars for sex.

Unless they closed off the private rooms in Kasalong Bar and L0litas in the past year or so, they definitely have short time rooms with bed, private toilet and shower. I only used those rooms for my visits to those places in the past few years. 1,700 baht all in was the usual rate for at least an hour with the girl.

Maybe that has all changed in the past 1-2 years, don't know.

Believe it or not, up until about 2 years ago there were some (maybe 5-6 girls between the 2 bars) above average looking girls in those two bars worth spending that amount of money on to fuck. Particularly the day shift at Kasalong Bar.

And I mean above average compared with many go-go bars and Thermae.

I had not heard that Wood Bar (Bangkok), formerly Dr. BJ's Salon, raised their prices for basic BJ from 700 - 1,000 baht to 1,500 baht. That is quite high unless there is some major upgrade in the girls, quality of service and environment since I last partook in that venue a couple of years ago.

Also, unless they have made another change in their business model, Wood Bar as well as most other BJ Bars in that part of lower Sukhumvit offer Full Service and not "only BJ."

The price for FS (or whatever else the girl agrees to do) in a larger room with a bed, often a private toilet, shower and considerably more time with the girl was generally around 1,700 baht in places like Wood Bar, Kasalong Bar, L0litas, etc. Which makes that 1,500 baht charge just for a BJ in one of Wood Bar's typical BJ cubicles even more surprising to me.
