Posts: 492Where would you go if on a budget and just wanted to see a new place with a bit of mongering? Say $2000 USD a month. Phuket was easy and fun. Get laid once a week and see a different part of the world and felt very safe.

The change in required insurance cover to $100.000 for renewals is for Non Immigrant OA visas, does not apply to O visas unless that is there is not another correction tomorrow.

Last one included as an easy cut and paste response.

The Phuket sandbox really is developing into a sh*t show. Ever changing rules, contradictory announcements from different departments. The rules are as clear as mud. Would not be surprised if they call the whole thing off with only a few days notice. Good luck to everyone trying to change their tickets or getting any refunds.
You would have to think only a very few brave souls are going to book with all the uncertainty.
BTW, currently anyone that tests positive for covid 19 gets taken into quarantine immediately and stays there for at least 14 day. Basically they put you into hospital for observation or even worse a make shift field hospital. That would be a nice way to spend your holiday.
Welcome to the land of smiles.

One thing they should do is match hkg, Japan, sin. 90 visa on entry. Even if only temporary.

Posts: 492I think Thailand is doing long term damage to itself as a vacation destination. If they are that cautious, maybe don't open. If they want tourist then have criteria that is reasonable and doesn't change every week. They look like they want tourists but don't care how tourists are treated. It's hard to find needed information. No one would be surprised to get to Phuket and have Phuket close down completely. It's just a shit show by the govt.

Other news, holders of non-immigrant visa's wishing to renew 12 month extensions will now require $100,000 insurance policies which includes covid cover. Not going to be straightforward for retirees in their seventies. Why am I beginning to wonder am I really welcome here.

Hello to everyone, thanks in advance for your help.
Wonder and evaluating few weeks in Phuket in August if the sandbox works properly.
COE, the certificate of entry is obviously a mandatory document and it will be issues only to individuals coming or resident in low middle risk countries.
Does anyone has that list ot known where to find it.
Thanks again, stay safe and happy hunting.
