I have been to Phuket about 4 times in the past 1 1/2 years, twice with my family during which there wasn't any opportunity to look for any action.
However, I just came back last night from a golf/monger trip, and here's the report.

DAY 1 : Arrived in the morning from Bangkok, and proceeded straight to Phuket Country Club for one round. It was an absolute disaster as we were totally rained out after just 4 holes. After waiting for quite a bit, the rain seemed to dissipate, so we continued to play, and again it rained cats and dogs. We finally gave up; anybody ever hear the Thai saying that 'never trust the weather and the women in Phuket'?

We left the club and proceeded to check-in at the Metropole Hotel in downtown Phuket, and as everybody was feeling soddend and weary from the rain, we decided to have a traditional massage. Found that the one at the hotel was fully booked, so proceeded to the Royal Thavorn. I was about to give up on Phuket as a monger destination, but the club at the Metropole Hotel really makes me want to return.

Yes, you still have to pay the shop for the massage. Think of it as a ST bar fine. Besides, you just might get a halfway decent massage for it.

Here's an update of some mongering / meeting girls over last couple of days since my last report. I've now had a bit more exposure to the pros and tourist girls so get a bit of a better vibe of what goes on.

Secondly I figured if that call ever went through, I would probably be missing a leg right now.

Anyway in a moment of disgust, I just walked right out and shoved my hands in her/his face and said 'you just keep the money, i am leaving'. Maybe I could've got a fucking blow job out of it but you know what, I would not be able to live with the fact that I knowingly had a BJ from a ladyboy. In the spirit of ISG discussion I thought I'd chime in regarding our friend Borat's report. I went to Phuket/Patong three times this year in the dry season and I'll add a bit here. Granted, I'm an old guy and not a hound dog monger, but I managed to have fun in Patong.

Just a quick report on Phuket thus far...

I think Thais see this as an opportunity, albeit confusing, but they just work it as hard as they can. After all, it's all about making a few baht!

...little snippets like that really have shocked me a bit. It's a totally different scene to BKK. Totally different ball game.

And why wouldn't it be? It exists almost exclusively for foreign package tourists and partying mongers. BKK is a real city with real people (at least some of them)!

Anyway I'd love for more juice on Phuket Town or more reliable places with young girls that look 9/10. For that, I don't mind paying 2k/3k.

You won't find them in Phuket Town unless you have a Thai friend who will take you to them. Good luck!

...i have not dived at ko lanta yet, but it's on my list. i had some good dives at phi phi in 2006....

there's some good diving to be had from koh lanta, but the dive locations are a ways away by boat. and, it's mostly the same spots you would go to from koh phi phi, just a longer boat ride. on koh lanta, there's at least one dive service that operates using speed boats to cut the travel time down, but they are more expensive.

i thought the diving there was ok, the water a little cloudy, but there were way too many people from multiple operators all diving in the same locations.

I did a 4 day live-a-board in the Similans in 2003, and had some excellent dives. But I would recommend you do it at the end of your trip to gain some more experience first, in order utilize the live-a-board trip better. Some dives out there can be demanding on a beginner. Also check if they require an Advanced Open Water first. I have not dived at Ko Lanta yet, but it's on my list. I had some good dives at Phi Phi in 2006. Around Krabi, like Ao Nang and Rai Lay an honest dive operator told me the visibility is quite poor.

Last time I was in Phuket in April bar girls were happy with 2k LT. My friend pulled a FL from one of the discos who happily accepted 1. 5k the day after. Think this would be a bit harder in BKK. But, when it comes to price of pussy Pattaya rules.

Check out Eden Divers in Patong. I had a fantastic 4 day live abord dive trip with them. Very good boat and crew.

As a beginner you should know that the current can be strong sometimes under water.
