Anybody currently in Phuket that can update me with the reopening of the bars, I would be grateful. Are they open yet / Will they open on Jul 1st?

I've read elsewhere that the gov is stopping bars from opening at present because alcohol increases the carelessness likely to lead to CV.

I suspect that the ankle bracelets don't exist in quantity yet.

I am not sure that ankle bracelets are required. My understanding is that you need a mobile phone with a downloaded QR code so that they can do a "track and trace" on you if necessary.

If the ASQ is only 1/3 more then that is pretty good. Remember the ASQ hotel also covers your food for the quarantine period as well as your COVID testing and, God forbid, your ambulance to the hospital.



I haven't looked into this much and one of the online doctors can correct me but it seems like even the mRNA vaccines aren't super effective at preventing even vaccinated people from getting the Delta Variant. What the mRNA vaccines do is prevent severe cases and hospitalization/death.

Also in response to your current post, the prices are about 1/3rd cheaper on Agoda and relates to hotels in the sandbox scheme which you will NOT be confined to 24/7. Thus you can leave and eat outdoors.

I believe the hotels are a hybrid between ASQ and normal hotels.

Days 1 to 3: You must stay at hotel, but they can leave rooms and use the facilities and services at the accommodation.

Days 4 to 7: Can go to specified destinations on Koh Samui.

Days 8 to 14: Can go to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.

Day 15: Can leave Phuket and are a free man to travel through Thailand.

Of course insert Phuket for Samui locations. I saw the issue as posting but can't edit due to my lowly non senior status.

Based 30 minutes of net surfing, I think you are right. That's the concept of the "Sandbox". You don't need an ASQ hotel for Phuket sandbox. You do need an "SHA Plus+" hotel, which is some sort of cleaning and disinfecting standard.

Not enough data yet to say for sure what the % of vaccinated people getting Delta covid is. But despite the increased number of people testing positive in the UK, the deaths from covid have not started trending up as in previous waves. Maybe to early to tell if this will hold.

It's worth mentioning that the UK has gone from 2 k cases a day to 10 k in the past six weeks, and according to news sources, 99% of these are Delta variant. Remove the Delta variant and you are looking at about 100 new cases a day. How could things have gone wrong so quickly? It's probably because Bojo the Clown gave UK domiciled Indians 96 hours notice to return to the UK or face quarantine.

Before being allowed to board flights to the UK, they were all required to have negative PCR tests issued in a country where medical corruption is notorious. To give you an example, in order to prevent the selective aborting of females, the Indian gov made it illegal for medicos to divulge the gender of the foetus. Regardless of that, 62% of all abortions are on female foetuses. Does that look like the medicos are playing by the rules? So with Covid endemic within India, and people not wanting to pay for a quarantine hotel (175 per night), how difficult do you think it might have been to change a positive PCR test into a negative test?

Hello to everyone, thanks in advance for your help.

Wonder and evaluating few weeks in Phuket in August if the sandbox works properly.

COE, the certificate of entry is obviously a mandatory document and it will be issues only to individuals coming or resident in low middle risk countries.

Does anyone has that list ot known where to find it.

Where would you go if on a budget and just wanted to see a new place with a bit of mongering? Say $2000 USD a month. Phuket was easy and fun. Get laid once a week and see a different part of the world and felt very safe.

2 k for girls and drinks only or including hotel and food? As you know our choices are quite limited and none of the SEA countries are open. If it's 2 k for girls, drinks, and food then Germany is doable as long as you mainly go to the cheaper clubs like Samya and Mondial. Imo for these 2 clubs cheaper does not mean inferior. If 2 k all-in and limited sex I suppose Medellin and Brazil should top your list of countries with open borders.

If all SEA countries were currently open Jakarta, Phnom Penh, and even Ho Chi Minh would top my list of budget places to visit where you can easily find girls. Thailand is considerably more expensive than these 3 countries.
