I was in phuket recently for a conference and was staying around bang tao beach. The place itself is quite laidback with hardly any activity. The bar scene there is dead. Karon is very different from Patong. No wild go go bars. Just a few bars and pool tables. But you can find what you are after. She won't be quite the looker the go go girls are but you can find a nice girl next door type. And honestly they may be a bit more motivated. I played pool for a couple hours of drunken fun with a girl and then bar fined her. She was thrilled. Took her back to the Hilton no problem. It's a small village. If you want to shoot fish in a barrel, you're better off at Patong. There are some bars in the covered alley next to the Aussie Bar (not too far up Patak Road from the circle) that might be your best fishing grounds. As for massage, obviously ignore the places with fish tanks and hair / nail sign. If it's upstairs / less obvious, check it out. The one clip joint that I knew about is gone now.

Turns out, I will be in Patong after all and have done some pre-trip research, would just like to post these here so maybe people can benefit or weigh in.

Girl Friendly Hotels. Almost all hotels are girl friendly if you book a double room. All you got to do is ask, I mainly choose budget hotels (25-40 USD per night) because I would barely stay in them except to rest and bang. Just send them an e-mail or ring them up and ask what is the guest policy.

You could use one of the many 'Girl Friendly Hotels in Patong' lists found on Google too, although these tend to be situated near Bangla and boxing stadiums and would be rather noisy, or have reports of it being dirty.

ThaiFriendly. Tried it out, wasn't super successful to be honest, the offerings are not too shabby and there are freelancers there but they are asking anywhere from 3000-5000 for LT. You can bargain this down though. I try and follow a rule of 2000-3000 for LT like most of the reports here.

After more than a week, there are less than 10 freelancers so I would say, best not to bother.

Phuket Town. The area around Phoonpon has a lot of full service massage parlours, including Katherine's. If you google the plaza though, you would see that it gets raided sometimes, like once a year or two?, BUT the reports always say 'No reports of prostitution' (pictures of glass bowl included). Soi 11 is a seedy part but hey its rows of fishbowls, what's not to love.

Most venues welcome girls in Thailand and in Phuket I been to Rock hard with my GF no problem but this was 2009. But I don't think you need to worry most venues will respect if you come with a girl.

You don't say, but I hope you are staying in Patong, not Phuket proper. Assuming so we loved RMar. It is well priced nice girl friendly and only a few blocks walk from Bangla road. Best combo of quiet close and girl friendly IMO. Staff is great too. Make sure to book a double to avoid joiner fee.
