Phuket, Day 1 Arrival and first night.


Approaching midnight, it was past time for me to stop walking and get to work. I had noted some really cute girls inside the Lions Bar. I was not sure if takeout was offered there, but it was time to dive in and learn. I let the outside ladies accost me and drag me inside, where I was seated at a table next to the elevated dancing area. A really hot girl was dancing right in front of me. This does not bode well for a fun time and, heck, I ask myself, is she really bar-finable? Am I wasting money buying her drinks? She had been gone for several minutes and I figure it is time to cut my losses. I pay my bill and leave. No one cares. She was still talking to her friend as I walked by her and I don't even think she saw me leave. I had been the only guy in the bar my whole stay, so I should have been prime beef to them. Oh well.

I continued walking up and down Bangla a couple more times to decide where to visit next. By this time, the lady boys were out and a couple accosted me. I was always polite, but no thanks! Not my thing.

I paid the fine and soon we were heading to my hotel. It was now maybe 1:30 AM and the road was far less crowded, probably due to the light rain that was falling. This is where I saw why see&and is rated high by Patong's mongerers it is so close to the action. A few minutes waking and we were there. Getting past security was easy she turned over her ID and to the room we went. It was there that some of my concerns were realized. Yes, she had a kid, obvious due to her breasts, which were deflated and no longer perky. And you could tell she had lots of make up on, which was not so obvious in the bar. Your report brought me back to when I used to experience the kind of night that you wrote about. What I mean is when I used to go to places like Phuket and when I used to bother with bars in places like Phuket and trying to deal with overpriced and unenthusiastic service.

Yes, back in 1990 when I went to a place which was full of beer-bars called "Soi Sanuk" and was in the middle of what was then countryside, you could get yourself a real nice beer-bar lady who gave you GFE and at a very reasonable price and LT was the norm.

But no longer. I avoid Phuket. Too many not great experiences like what you had, too many pretty girls who get a lady drink from you and clear off to talk to someone else. And the freelancers can't be trusted to be real ladies or with not ripping you off. That and high-prices are the reasons why in Thailand I generally stick to oilies or massage places with guaranteed FS. If I try a girl and she is good, I do take out, especially close to quitting time when they are likely to give me a smaller take-out charge.

I think that there are places where you can get good providers outside the usual oily / massage places. Bars in slightly off the beaten track in places like Ko Trang used to work for me. Or even in Bangkok unknown massage places where you might be able to do ST take-out and, if enthusiastic over a couple of take outs, I organise a LT. But this requires time to research and taking the chance of it not working out at all.

I would like to take the massage girls back to my hotel, but I will have my significant other and child with me, so all the fun will have to be done in the massage shops or in short time hotels. Don"t know how many ST hotels there are in Patong but I'm betting there are some. Any recommendations on MP other then Christan? Or are they all basically the same operation? I actually had not booked a Phuket hotel until the day before I was to arrive. Well, for that matter, I had not booked a flight either. Not a problem. I love the Asian airlines as they do not play games with the airfares – same price whether you book the day of or a month before. For the hotel, I chose see&and based on numerous good reviews. I will review the hotel on the Phuket Hotel page, but the best thing about it is that Bangla Road is literally a 2 minute walk away. Anyway, in my online reservation booking I asked for them to pick me up, which they do if you book at least 3 nights. What I failed to notice was they require a 3 day advanced booking to do that as well. However, in my confirmation they said they would send someone out to get me regardless, and not only that, they had a 25% discount going that was not included in my online booking, and they would also give me that discount. Wow. Great folks!

I was greeted outside the airport by a guy holding sign with my name, but still had to wait a while for the driver to arrive, which was fine. The airport facility is being expanded, which is badly needed. Phuket appears to be booming. It was about a 45 minute drive to the hotel, and I arrived a bit after 5 PM. Check-in was a breeze.

I had a 3rd floor room about 2/3 rds of the way back from the room, overlooking the see&and massage place. The rooms further back are supposed to be quieter. Since my room included no drawers or shelves to store clothing items (what is up with that? It did not take me long to unpack! My plan was to walk around a bit before to get the lay of the land, eat, then start mongering after it got dark. I had studied maps of Puket back home, but totally forgot the lay of the land or even where see&and was in relation to Bangla Road. I just started walking around and soon ended up at the beach for a nice sunset. I was getting hungry by then and found that nearly every restaurant I passed had people out front trying to lure me inside. I don't like to be accosted and, after having eaten mostly Thai food with my "GF" in Bangkok, I ended up with an overpriced meal at Burger King on Bangla Road. Sheesh, the drink sizes are smaller than in the US, and no free refills! Yes, America, the Land of the Free Refill. Not sure if Asia is ready for free refills yet.

I will interject one thing I don't like about the see&and at this point. When you leave your room, all the electricity gets cut off! Including the air conditioner. So, if you have a nice cool, dehumidified room when you leave to go out, when you come back, it will be hot and muggy again. If you are out walking around looking forward to a cool hotel room, forget it. You have to wait for it to cool. My 5-start hotel in Bangkok was similar, but it didn't heat up so much or get so muggy, but it is newer hotel and well-engineered. The see&and is old and leaky.

Anyway, after a bit of a rest back at my hotel (which was hot and humid again following my scouting trip), I headed back to Bangla Road at around 9 PM. I mostly just walked back and forth, getting accosted by the same people each time it seemed. At the beach end, you get accosted mostly by the tailors. They would say "Hey Boss" and want to shake my hand, then tell me about the shirts and shirts they would make for me. I now totally ignore them. In the middle of the road, both guys and gals tried to get me to see a ping pong show. Dozens of them trying to get me to see a ping pong show. Sheesh! In front of most every bar, pretty girts would try to get me to come in and buy a cheap beer. Sorry, I don't drink. Over the next few nights, I actually started to make friends with a few of the girls, making jokes that I would see them on my next pass as, indeed, I mainly just walked up and down the road taking it all in. The worst, however, was on Soi Sea Dragon. Here they also had guys that would pounce on you to get you to go inside. Suzy Wong's was really bad at that.

After 10 PM I had started seeing some obvious FLs come out. At first I didn't recognize them to be FLs (free lancers), but after a couple of passes, a few would smile at me and it finally struck me who they were! Duh! Basically every massage girl will give extras, right up to FS.

They are as they have gold me, all " working girls".

Ask "politely" and quietly first or when you first go in.

If they don't then it's because they don't want to with you, or its the wrong time for them.

If knocked back just walk to the next shop, and pick another you like.

A further hint though.

Instead of having FS in the shop, arrange to catch up with them later, towards midnight when the knock off.

Overnight is basically the same cost as FS in the shop I've found.

I am not sure the Thai adult industry is up to that level of sophistication yet.

The next step after having invited a lady to your table and given her a ladydrink is to negotiate with her for sex, either in your hotel room, in the rooms of the agogo-club (if they have some, not all clubs do) or in a short time hotel (the girls will know where to take you).

Prices will vary and are subject to too many variables to calculate accurately, but basically there are only two categories: "short time", i.e. a few hours max with one or two pops and "long time" which is overnight.

Just be clear and open about what you want (don't worry, they won't be shocked as they will have heard it all already) and negotiate her fee. The "barfine" (or "exit fee" as you call it) is usually non-negotiable and has to be paid to the bar. It will be due even if you take her out of the bar even for a very short time.

So, it's been my 4th day in Phuket today, and tomorrow I'll be taking off! Going to split it all in different days so it's all nice and structured:

1 st Day: I called it Drama Night. This night I went directly to some beer bars where, played a bit of pool and started warm-up drinking, as I was planning to hit the Discos. Seeing how happy the girl from night 2 was, when I gave her 2 K, got me into coming up w a new strategy, a good one I think. She asked for 2 K for all night. So I told this hottie, we'll do like this: I give you 1.5 K no matter what. And if I really like you, I will give you 2 K, I promise. She went for it happily, telling me on the way home that she will make me never forget this night and all. Good motivation apparently! And so she did! She was really epic, had some great skills and as I was on the Kamagra again, it went on and on. 2 times during the night and once more in the morning. Great success. I'm off to Phuket and have never really understood GoGo bars and was hoping someone could fill in the blanks.

I have been twice and basically gotten girls lady drinks, they sit next to you and a bit of touching.

My question is what if you want more.

Lets say for example you want a stripper experience with a lap dance. Do these places in Phuket have rooms for lap dances?

If so, what would be the cost? What about HJ? Does that go on here or would you need to pay rent for the room or pay a exit fee for them?
