In the end, a little over 36 hours in Patong proved to be entertaining, fun and tiring...as the good life should be! It was nice to get back to the quiet island pace, though.

Posts: 1058Patong Beach: It's not a long way to India! -- Part 1
After three dry seasons living a monastic life on an island in southern Thailand, I finally made a sojourn to Phuket. My main mission was to visit an old bar girl friend from Soi 33, along with a sub-plot of having a little fun away from the "Mrs." Getting there was easy. It was a non-eventful ferryboat ride from Koh Lanta with a short stopover in Koh Phi Phi. Caught a moto-si taxi (250 baht) from the ferry port to Patong town, and checked into a very comfortable 1300 baht room at Le Tan Jong House, which a fellow ISG member had recommended.
About 9pm, I moseyed over to the bar where my friend works on Bangla Rd. -- the Stockholm Bar on Soi Lion -- barfined her and her bartender "sister," and went to dinner at Baa Buakao Restaurant on Soi Patong Tower. We had an excellent meal washed down with a couple of bottles of wine. As we were the last customers, the owner bought us a round of brandies and sat and talked with us about her business. By then it was midnight and we wandered back to Soi Lion. It was quite funny walking arm-in-arm with two very tipsy Thai women -- one a very petite Isaan spinner and the other a zaftig Chaing Rai beauty -- weaving our way through the scene on Bangla Rd.
Back at the Stockholm Bar...things were hoppin'. There were about a half dozen coyote dancers workin' it hard on top of the bar and the liquor was flowing. Quite the scene on Soi Lion where the working girls outnumbered customers by about 2.5:1. I would definitely check this spot out late night while in Patong if nothing else but for the girls dancing.
I took my little drunk spinner friend back to the guesthouse around 1am, and honestly don't remember much else until the morning when we revisited old ground together on a very comfortable bed. After a half-hearted romp down Memory Lane, I went out early to see Patong, find some strong coffee, and snap a few photos. I let the little gal sleep until 1pm (still a little early to wake up a bar girl).
Patong is a three ring circus, both day and night. Seems that there's at least one or two of every strange creature there -- the Noah's Ark of mankind. All in all, for a quiet island dweller like myself, the first 20 or so hours was very entertaining. Lots of pretty women (Thai and others flavors), good food, an entertaining beach scene, and of course, 24/7 mongering on tap...all with an ocean view of India! (...to be continued)

Never even been to Thailand yet...April coming up quick
I want to play in Bankok and Patyaya a week or two, but spend most of my days in Phuket. Just for the beaches I have seen online.
How is the weather in Mid April-May? Need a windbreaker/cover for rain, or ?
Plan on packing a light bag for travel and would apricate the tips.
Also how hard is it to find a 18ish eye candy to keep on your arm, swim with, for a week and play with in the evening? (sort of GFE I supose) rather than the nightly quickie that I would get in Pataya.
Any favorite cottages that one can sugest?
Feel free to PM me. Can also trade some contacts for UAE if you are ever in the area.
Thank you!

Currently not so many tourists in Phuket for high season. It seems people are still afraid to be stuck in airport for days and did not show up this year. Hotels are far from being overbooked, as well as girls! Plenty of girls available. If you want to come, it should be easy to find a ticket and an hotel room.
Apart from that, same type of girls as usual. I met a few nice girls above my usual age range, but with wet pussies to compensate for age. I will try to find more time to report.
Inflation is going on, my favorite soup provider after disco has increased farang price from 40 THB to 50 THB! And girl's price is harder to negotiate because they have less revenues than expected at this time of the year.

I have been to Phuket 2 years in a row now, both times during the week of Thanksgving here in the states. This is my first trip report even though I've been a monger for over 20 years and did'nt even realize it that this was a hobby.
I just found this website last week as I was doing some research on my trip next week to Panama.
I love Phuket. Plane and simple. Last year I stayed at safari beach hotel and last month I stayed at Poppa Palace hotel. Both are right in the middle of all the action, and I never left more than a 3 or 4 block radius of the hotels the whole time I was there.
There are so many side soi's that one must check out other than Bangla rd.
The best chica's I have meet have come from these hidden bars.
They are all over, but you must be adventourous.
I like Phuket much more that Bangkok. I never spend more than $5 to $10 per day on food as I always eat from the street vendors. Never been sick yet.
I can't wait to get back to Phuket this coming fall.

I still like the discos, but you make some good points! I also prefer Pattaya, but prefer the beaches and islands around phuket.

Why would it be that the freelance places in Phuket(discos) are sooo bad, Yet they are the feeding ground for many in Pattaya(Lucifer Insomnia, and Marine 1, 2 and 3) and Bankok (Nana hotel Disco, Bamboo, Thermae coffee shop) Where do you meet girls in Phuket?
IMHO the discos offer a great value as the girls have left thier place of regular employment(BB's, Go-Go's) and are more desperate because it's getting late. Add no bar fines! Also many younger girls have discovered they don't need to work in a BBar or Go-Go, they can just go the the discos for 1 or 2 hrours and find a client.
Maybe some recent travelers haven't found much at Tiger Disco, but less then a handfull doable!!! I am shocked! Where do you find girls?
But I do believe you need to hang out late and move around.

Some additional comments
On Tiger Disco: many girls there who may look like pretty girls if you don't look closely. A real pretty girl is still a pretty when she's naked and the light is on. Obviously no more than a handfull of girls in this disco (and others) can pass this test.
