Does anyone have insight as to the scene in late May to early June in Phuket? Got to start spending at least some of this year's PTO but can't do it during the normal season.

Late May into June is fine in Phuket, the weather is still good, and there is no discernible drop off in talent.

I had the same questions and chose to stay in Rawai, does not have the craziness of Bangla but still has plenty of bars and freelancers. I will venture over to Bangla once or twice during my stay. But still have the solitude of a beach view villa.

Tho the quality of ladies in the main bars around Rawai IMO is down quite a bit at the moment.

Chase the freelancers on ThaiFriendly or around the place is the best option.

Laguna bars have the best talent at the moment, and if you are up for late nights then Club Zhu.

Should we prebook for someone to meet us at noon & then explore the night life?

I am planning to be in Phuket for a week in April and was hoping to get some recommendations / tips.

1) It seems that Bangla road is where all the action is in Phuket. Is that accurate or are there other / better options (like agencies or indies)?

2) Assuming 1) is true, I am looking to stay near Bangla road but ideally looking to stay at a "nice" place. Are there resorts that are mongering friendly? It doesn't appear to be the case based on the Phuket Hotel sub but would be helpful to know. Currently I am considering staying at the four points by Sheraton resort as that was mentioned in the sub to be guest friendly and it's close to Bangla.

If staying near Bangla is not necessary then I would love to stay somewhere nicer and still be able to monger when I want LOL. Best of both worlds to the extent there are spots like that in Phuket.

1) WRONG.

Bangla Road is where the more expensive action is, not necessarily the most expensive, and not necessarily the best quality also.

It truly depends on what you want to do.

There is the rest of Patong, OTOP, other areas in the north and south of Patong, Ratuthit Road massage, Soi Sansabai nuru, and along Nanai Road.

Then there is Phuket Town for soapies, there is Kamala, Kata, Karon and my favorite Rawai for more laidback punting.

Also there is online like ThaiFreindly, Tinder, others, agencies.

2) Mongering friendly and nice resorts are a mismatch, most of Patong, and Phuket for that matter, is a family oriented tourist focused town.

The better places as you put it, 4 star and up, are focused on that market.

However they will tolerate joiners, at a price often, as long as you are discrete about it.

You would be wiser looking for comfortable accommodation that has what you want, pool, etc. , as there is plenty of that focused towards mongering.

Hi Merperb, you mention 4 points Sheraton resort. It's a long walk down to Bangla from there. Try Patong Towers, much better location.

Hey all,

Just wanted to thank everyone for the feedback I received, both on the page and PM, on where to stay. I ended up deciding on extending the amount of time to a month and found a nice condo building that fits what I'm looking for this trip, and at a great price. It's just over 1 km from the action and a straight shot. Again, thanks for the feedback. My trip is most of July into the first week of August. I look forward to updating some of my experiences as it's been a while since I've had anything to report. Also, anyone interested in grabbing a drink or mid day meal, send a PM.
