It has been a while that I have been trying to buy an unlocked cell phone.
Places that sell cell phones don´t have unlocked phones to sell. There are
two firms on the web that sell them. But, I hate doing business on the net. Two weeks ago I was window shopping on Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles,
I came across an electronic shop that had what I was lookinf for, a quad
....rola cell phone. This shop is located on Hollywood Blvd on the same street
where there is Magic shop, few doors toward Highland Ave.
I wonder why cell phone merchants don´t sell tri, quad cell phones, could
it be greed?

I don't understand. Normal (unlocked) 2nd hand cell/mobile/handy phones are readily available in Thailand. Just plug in the Pay-ahead SIM Card (DTac or One-2-Call) and go in a few minutes. Get it working before parting with your cash.
Cell phones locked to a provider are around but I have never run into this problem in Thailand, probably because they are virtually worthless.

I've been in Karon/Patong areas in 2 weeks from 9.december to 23.december 2006. I would like to inform my fellow whorists about the situation right now.

Firstly I have to write that Karon is much cheaper compared to Patong. In some bars (for example "Allied Bar" in Karon) you just pay 200 Baht for barfine and only 1000 Baht for the girl (for whole night, of course).

I would like to recommend "Allied Bar" in Karon. Specially Ji, who is 24 y.o. and a very pretty Isaan woman. Tread her as you are a centelman please. She is a real pearl. Any way, almost all girls in "Allied Bar" in Karon are very hot, and the athmosphere is very cosy, too.

I tried also other bars in Karon, but as there weren't many girls in the other bars, the girl I picked up tried to go back to the bar as soon as possible. (Avoid bars, where there aren't many girls. Otherwise your night could be distroyed in this way, that you want to fuck, but the girl want to go back to the bar).

I have also been in some bars in Patong. The barfine is 500 Baht, and 2000 Baht for the girl. As I find this price a little bit high, I went to disco FBI/Tai Pan in Patong. (All bar girls go there after their bar is closed. And you can pick up a bar girl to a price of 1000 Baht for whole night. Of course the girl demand 2000 Baht, but if you negotiate you can get her for 1000 Baht. And of course you don't pay any barfine).

I would like to suggest my fellow whorists, that you have to make a very clear deal with the girl, before you get into a taxi/tuk tuk. (Specially freebees try to go back to Karon as soon as possible, in order to make more money. Another customer means another 1000 Baht, at least. Make it very clear that, if she doesn't want to stay all night with you, she can only get 500 Baht for short term and no money for taxi/tuk tuk. If you make a clear deal you avoid bad surprises).

Well, this is the actual situation in Karon/Patong areas in december 2006. I hope my informations are usefull.

There is a small bar in Kata which is a few yards down the hill opposite the road-entrance to Mom Tri's Boathouse. There are usually a few girls working there who have access to nearby accommodation. From memory, I think it's called Friendly Corner, or something similar with "Friendly" in the name.

I haven't been there for a while so things might have changed.

I would be pleased for any additional info on the Kata/Karon areas as I will be there at the end of January.

If you are in the US, you can find plenty of unlocked, quad band phones on Ebay. I got mine there.

I have read that there are some ST bars in kata beach where the girls live and do the business onsite. Does anyone know which bars these are in Kata? I'm that lazy and I can do without schlepping to the meat market of Patong every night!

Thailand is mainly a prepaid mobile phone market; You should be able to find a SIM card at any phone shop for about 300 baht. Then just buy prepaid cards at 7-eleven to add time.

Does anyone know if you can buy minutes?

Or do I need a contract setup?

If you're in Phuket and looking for action during the day, but can't take a girl to your hotel.either because your wife is there or the hotel does not allow bar girls- ask one of the massage girls that stand outside the massage shop around Bangla rd. To get you a short time hotel. At the top of Bangla rd. There are a lot of small hotels that will allow a Thai girl to rent by the hour. Give the girl 500bt (this will get you about 2hrs) and follow her from a short distance, but don't let the hotel staff see you as they will want more money if she is with a farang. Once the girl has booked the room and been given the key, follow her upstairs. Once the deed is done, pay the lady and get out, no need for you to show id to anyone.

During the day if you walk along the beach road, many girls will approach you and offering massage. You can talk to them and tell them that you are looking for boom boom, they would know what you are looking for.

Some would say, no only massage. If you are lucky you will find the ones that are offering boom boom. Then they will take you to a special room where, massage with extra is offered. The price would be the same as usual.

Christines is the main massage place with extras on the corner of the Bangla Road. I think that is the main one. There are no doubt many massage places with extras but have only found ones that have offered HJ. There is one near bang tao beach just outside the big Laguna complex. Anyone else know of any others?

Therefore the hotel is far enough away from Bangla to be quiet, but only maybe 45 seconds walk to get to the action. I stayed during November, top-quality service with a smile (and that includes the American owner in the photos - he's a nice chap).
