Does anyone know if guest houses or hotels are full next week in Phi Phi
and if not full what will be the rates like.
Following the tsunami I think this time bungalows may not be full.
By the way how many bungalows are left and would it be easy to pick up chcks?

Hi Mates,

Posts: 1642Had Yai - Phuket bus
Papercut,
I don't know what bus you were on, are you sure it wasn't a mini van?
The aircon bus from HY-Phuket is about B220!
Look for the buses with orange coloring on the sides, I believe the number is around 420(423? - ***********?). Too bad I can't find my notes...
Compare prices:
Nakhon Sri Tammarat-Krabi(fan)= B 70 (2002)
Krabi-Phuket(fan)= B 65 (2002)
Fan bus from HY would be about the same. Traveltime is about 8 hours.

Just back from Phuket. Best quality girls this year are at Dragon a go go on Soi Dragon- top quality- I heartlily recommend no 61! Avoid no 25- incredibly cute but a bit of a rip off merchant! Tiger and Taipan are the best discos to go- trust me, the place is awash with lovelies this year!

Hi Trans,
The last bus fares for one way that I've paid is about 500bht (in 2004) from Hatyai to Phuket. I am not too sure the significant increases on bus fares thereafter causing by the global increases on fuels.
There will a few stops in between for lunch and coffee breaks for the passengers. The final stop will be at Krabi for 1/2 hours. The entire journeys will tooks your an approximately 8-9 hours, including the short intervals for breaks. This also depending on how clear the traffics flow leading to Phuket town on that time.
hope this information will enlighten your questions pertaining the journey from Hatyai to Phuket.
Papercut.

I will be in Patong February 13th to the 23rd. Anyone going to be out there at that time.
This will be my first time to Patong, I was in Pattaya about 18 years ago. I have been reading alot to get caught up. Seems to be almost overwhelming the amount of information out there. Any help in identifing the best clubs, bars, Agogos or pool bars. I will be diving so early nights (midnight or so) will be normal for me.
Thanks

Thanks for the post.
I did go to Phuket town and the part about no bus after 6pm was slightly off, last bus back to beach was actually around 5:35pm when I visited. Found out the hard way as I reach bus stop at 5:45 and waited for 20min before an old man told me last bus left already. Then it was negot. with mototaxi for 200 (or 250b)? cant remember which , for ride back to beach.
As I am not familiar as you around Phukettown, I wont even know where to look for the "cheaper" places to stay next time I go there or best places for picking up the gals as you had suggested.
Perhaps a list (locations) of where to start looking would be greatly appreciated as not much current info on Phukettown available. This would be a big time saver as I don't have to start from scratch.
Thanks

Hi All,
I will be coming to Phuket mid Feb 16 -20. I have booked myself at Malai Inn which is along patong. I think.
Anyone of you would like to meet up and have some beer, bacardi etc.
Btw, whats the rate or price of a bus to hatyai from Phuket? How long it takes to reach there?
Thank you all,
Trans

Posts: 306There is one guesthouse in Patong that is super cheap. 250 a night in low season and 300 in high season. Small room, but has a fan, tv, hot water, and a single bed. It's right behind Lamai Inn (or is it Lamai hotel?) Anyway, it's called Kaew Kong Guesthouse. The owner is a real asshole sometimes, especially if you don't pay everyday or in advance, but it's the cheapest I found in Patong.
