I'm pleased to say that Cristine Massage is back! It opened earlier this month. Although it is quiet outside, it is clean and hopping on the inside. The going rate is 3600. When I went in the early evening there were 9 girls to choose from. According to the girl I chose, all of them worked at Christine before COVID, so it isn't a young group. I would guess the average was close to 40.

The good news is they are well trained and seem to be glad to be back to work. The service is the same as before, a nice playful bath followed by slippery, soapy fun on the air mattress, then massage and more on the bed.

But nothing at all in the way of farang or expat bars.

The bars would be from there either towards Patong, a few in the area just before you go up and down the hill into Patong, or back into Phuket Town nearly.

Not much else at all, with all the really good options are 5-10 kms away (Patong, Chalong along Soi Taed, and Rawai).

Now when you mention Kathu, is that meaning physically back up over the hill towards Phuket Town?

Thee reason I ask is that many of the hotels and resorts in Patong are actually listed as in the district of Kathu (which includes Patong).

So it pays to physically check hotel locations on a map, and if it is near the beach, then it is Patong / Kathu.

The Thai system sometimes gets me confused because of concepts like Kathu within Kathu and Krabi within Krabi. If somebody says they live in Roi Et, you really don't know if they mean the province or the city.

I've also been confused about Thai naming conventions for places. If you could give a simple explanation of the system, I'm sure several of us would benefit. What you already wrote helps.

My understanding is that Phuket is a province that has 3 districts, Kathu is one of the districts (I don't know the names of the others). Patong and Kathu are both sub districts within Kathu. Maybe. I'm only about 30% confident of that limited understanding. Clarification, correction, and expansion would be appreciated. Thanks.

Phuket is divided up into three main administrative areas, known as Amphoe (districts). These are:

Mueang Phuket.

Mueang Phuket is known as the capital district of Phuket Province, mainly because it includes Phuket Town (mueang means "city" But this district extends much further, encompassing everything as far south as Chalong, Rawai and Nai Harn, and even across to Karon and Kata. This Amphoe is the most densely populated in Phuket.

Kathu.

Kathu District sits on the west side of the island, north of Karon, and includes Patong, Kamala, as well most of the Kathu Valley in the centre of the island. This is the smallest of the three main districts.

Thalang.

Thalang District is easily the largest area, but it is also the least densely populated. It extends from the northern borders of the other two Amphoe the whole way to the Sarasin Bridge. The southern border of Thalang pretty much cuts the island in half, with Thalang to the north, and the other two districts to the south.

The Sub Districts, Municipalities and Villages.

The 3 main Amphoe are broken down into 17 sub-districts, or Tambon, and 9 Municipalities (Thesban).

Eight of these tambon are in Mueang Phuket: Talad Yai, Talad Nuea, Ko Kaeo, Ratsada, Wichit, Chalong, Rawai and Karon.

Kathu has 3 tambon: one named after the Amphoe Kathu, then Patong and Kamala.

And there are 6 tambon are in Thalang: Thep Krasasttri, Si Sunthon, Cherng Talay, Pa Khlok, Mai Khao and Sakhu.

Phuket actually has 17 sub districts.

And when covid fear was in full flight in 1 H2020, Phuket was physically locked down by sub district.

I don't know them all by name.

But here are some key ones, going down the west coast from about mid was along.

Bang Tao (Laguna, and Surin).

Kamala.

Kathu (Kathu and Patong).

Karon (Karon and Kata).

Rawai (Rawai and Naiharn).

Then back up the east coast.

Rawai.

Chalong.

Then more.

Wichit.

Phuket Town.

Ratsada.

And more.

There's pretty much nothing soapy wise in all of Phuket.

The two biggest ones, Christins, and the Phuket Town one are long gone, likely to never return.

There used to be a smaller one in a hotel, but it was pretty shitty.

If anything is around soapy wise it may still be the hotel based ones in Phuket Town.

The best thing that is anywhere like that is Nuru massage in Patong.

They have shops on both Soi Sansabai and Soi Nanai.

For both the service doesn't include sex, just BBBJ finish.

So, if you want sex (another 1000 baht usually), ask for it when you are downstairs in the intro, and they will tell you which girls do it.
