Guys, I need to listen to your experiences. I'm a 31 years old white guy who looks ok. I noticed a fellow member replying to this post and I wanted to add my two cents.

I am living with a hot "village girl" now and spend about 20K. I even tested it out one month and we ended up spending about 500 usd ( no going out or eating out). I make it very clear to her that she would not get any money from me for any reason. I only pay for her tution for college which comes out to 30k baht every 5 months. I might give her 3000B to spend to her parents once in a while ( 3-4 months).

Here's a break-down
6500 rent
2500 eletric and water ( air con on 24/7)
9000 food ( 300B per day x 30. This is eating well for a Thai)
1000 Transportation ( take the local 8B truck Taxis, we rarely take a taxi unless it's late night)
19000B total

This is living well ( as far as eating and the air con). You can reduce the food expense to 4500B ( 150B per day) and live just fine. You have to remember that the average Thai factory worker makes 4000B/M and the average office worker makes 8000B/m, so if you get the way they do and travel around the way they do. You can save a lot of money.

My advice.
drink Thai beer
Eat Thai food
Don't loan anyone any money for any reason. And be frank and up front about it. ( I told my TGF that I will not loan out money for any reason)

Don't let your GF buy crap for her family. If she starts to add little this and that to the cart for her sister or whoever. She knows she will get it from me.

I've been burned in the past by another girl and by doing this I can avoid any potential problems.

I have similar tastes to yourself.

I have a couple of regular gf in Thailand, they are low maintenance, and good fun. We can go out to a medium restaurant, one or two drinks, she shows me round, I enjoy the same low cost entertainments that she does. Ans she knows where to buy good clothes at astoundingly low prices from night markets. So I buy some items every time.

I enjoy this kind of mongering.

I also have a couple of married ones that are on tap. Because of their situation, their needs are different. Most just want to meet somewhere to be pampered, made to feel like a real woman, given an orgasm or two, and she reciprocates. This is really nice and uncomplicated. One is married but long term separated, middle class. open invite to stay with her when I like, and for as long as like.

But it took time, effort and persistence with Thai dating sites to get to this situation. It is not quick. But now that my bona fides are established, they are regulars for ever.

If you're looking for a low-maintenance GF, your best bet would probably be lower-middle-class Thai girls (accountants, primary school teachers etc.). Somebody who has just enough money to get by, but is in general content with their life and choices. They are still very interested in Farang, but not only as a meal ticket (though of course it's a factor). They also tend not to go for the jugular immediately (I. E. You can get a few months cheap trial in hopes of marriage. But better not to let on how much you earn).

I don't have much experience in the provinces, but Udon seems to cheap, large enough to have a middle-class, and easy for a Farang to fit in. If all else fails, the 300 baht/pop brothels there are almost cheaper than your right hand.

There is a reggae bar at Ao Hin Khok where you can barfine girls. Good live music (not just reggae). Girls are a range from really good through to pretty terrible, I enjoyed a very pretty petite 27yo from Loei, she took me to her room down the road for short term, which was fun - 1000 plus 500 bf plus 200 in taxi fares. Many customers in the bar are ordinary tourists. Behind the bar there is a karaoke room where the Thais go for girls. You have to go through it to get to the mens room.

Yes they need visa, but laotian are allowed to come in Thailand with a tourist pass for a short stay (didn t remember how long), but in this case they cannot go outside a limit. In clear they can go to nong khai, udon, mukdahan. But not until Bangkok and like for Cambodian it s not easy to get a thai visa for laotian. Don t forget laotian need interior ministry authorisation to go out their country. But if you show all the guarantee to the thai embassy it will easy. But I don t think she will get more than one month visa.

Lao citizens don't need a visa for border areas, e.g. Nong Khai and Udon Thani (thus, many Lao girls in Udon).

However, they do need a visa to go to Bangkok. It seems that it's not particularly difficult to get in terms of requirements. Most Lao girls don't make it to BKK, as for them visa + trip + accomodation add up to a lot of money, and it's a bit of a plunge into unknown.

I know a Lao girl who was a Sukhumwit freelancer and would come here occasionally on 30-day tourist visas (saw the passport, she had 3 visas so far). She was very intelligent, but has no job, education, connections or money, so she would not qualify if formal visa requirements were tough.

700 baht st girl you picked in maesai. In which shop you found her? From the border when you walk towards the intersection with the shrine in red light district area, before the shrine there are a few KTV and a brothel which is on the left, right before a smaller brothel on the corner which is on the left too. Girls sitting in the gardenlike place in the bigger brothel and one of them demands 1000 then down to 800 or 700 unlike other 500 baht girls. Is that the one you did.

What I recall is this: I took the last right street before the border (i.e. walking north) and walked down one block (there was a big hotel on the left side of this street) , then one block left, then a little bit right again, and the bar was on the left side of the street. I don't know if this is the "red-light district" but I think there were a couple similar looking bars. Hope this helps.

But there a quite new place called K 813 or Karaoke 813 run by a Katoey. Actually it's two places in the same building. One is the karaoke place with the "bar girls" or karaoke girls and the other is the discotheque next to it.

Based on Mongi Max's post I was able to find the Karaoke place last summer. When I was in there the girls said that they don't go out. I asked where I might find girls that do go out and was told that about 3km south of there I should check a place called THA on the same side of the road. I did so and ended up with one of the girls upstairs in the bedrooms.

Earlier this month I was back in Khao Lak and THA is still around. This time there were about 5 girls during the start of the week but only 2 left by the end as the others went home for Songkran. The BF is 500 baht and the girls wouldn't go below 1500 for ST. Also, the girls don't always carry condoms so be sure to bring your own. About 300m south on the opposite side of the road there is a short time place. 500 baht w/o A/C and 700 baht with A/C.

The owner of the bar is from Surat Thani as are some of the girls. The attached photo is a girl from THA who hails from Hat Yai. Smoking body but so-so performer.

I also found the Monkey Bar/Banana Bar area and as someone else said the ladies there seem like drug addicts. I wasn't interested.

thanks for the good trip report. you sure covered a lot of ground and saw some of the nicer areas of thailand.

re: the krabi hotel. i've been in there on and off for a few years. takeout is available, but the bar fine is expensive. it's 2000 baht early and 1200 later (after 11:30, i think). most of the women there do not speak english, so your thai would need to be good, and you'd have to make sure you had a clear service agreement before paying the bar fine.

i stopped in there a few nights ago and there were several very pretty women working. the "flower for singing" thing is a waste of money but that is the best option to get the attention of a woman of choice. the girls work on you hard for the flowers as that's how they make money. usually, i just get a little drunk, listen to the pretty birds sing, and wander on to do something else.

the are many karaoke places rep001tered around krabi town outside of the downtown tourist area, but they are mainly for thai clientele.

I recently returned from a month bird watching trip in Thailand. A few nights were in Bangkok and Chiang-mai, and a number of nights were camping in national parks or staying in REALLY small towns, but a few nights I was in larger towns and had a look around. This was only my second time in Thailand and I speak no Thai, so consider this a beginner report.

This is a pleasant small town a few hours north of Chiang Mai (past Fang and Mae Ai near the Burma border), with some nice and inexpensive tourist hotels on the river. (You can get a boat from here to Chiang Rai). I asked at a bar where I might find some ladies, and was told of a place a little south of town that might work. I found the place, which looked promising: hidden down a back street, colored lights and silhouettes of ladies painted on the wall, and plenty of women inside. But I was told by the girl who sat down with me, and the bartender, and the mama-san: girls do not go out, ever.

So I went to a massage place that was still open at 11:00 (going north, just across the bridge on the left), where they had little curtains separating the mats, but was tired enough that I just went with the massage. Next night I went back and asked the boss about extras. "You want boom-boom? 700 baht" She called out someone (no fishbowl here! ) and we went off to a small private room. Nothing memorable, but I think it’s the only game in town.

Chaeng Saen

On the Mekong about 15 KM downriver from Golden Triangle. Very pleasant riverfront with excellent fresh fish available. Found a bar with some women, but the bartender said they don’t go out. So he took me on his motorbike to another bar he thought they did go out, but same story here. So a guy here takes me on his motorbike further out of town to an apparent brothel with the unlikely name "Family Hotel" but the guy here says no women available (about 11PM). So he drops me off at my hotel (cheap place on the river) and I go next door to a bar, and there’s an oriental guy with two hot women drinking pitchers. One of them keeps smiling at me, and when the guy gets up to take a leak, she runs over and gives me her phone number So I think I’m good for the next day, but somehow, the next day, I manage to lose my phone (with the number) in the reeds around Chaeng Saen Lake. So I gave up on Chaeng Saen and went 30 KM up the river to Mae Sai for the night. But maybe there's some FL possibilities in the riverfront bars.

Mae Sai

This has probably been covered by people on visa runs. Town seems to consist of one wide busy street leading to the border crossing. I didn’t find anything on the main street, and went down the last street on the right before the border to a likely looking MP, but a guy coming out said massage only, but directed me further down the street, then a block left, to some bars with women sitting around. These bars were kind of different: no lady drinks, no sitting around chatting the girls up, no barfines, just pick one and go. 700 B ST, 2500 LT. The LT number made no sense to me but they wouldn’t budge, so I went for ST. It was kind of a ways back to my hotel, but there was a perfectly decent short time place nearby for only 50B. The girl I picked was, truly, the best looking woman I have been with in Thailand, great smile, great body, not too skinny. So naturally she was a dud in bed.

Cha-am

This is a beach town north of Hua Hin. I stayed here after camping in Kaeng Krachan National Park a few nights. From the highway, take the main street east to Cha-am Beach, where there is a T junction. From here there are plenty of hotels north and south, and a few good seafood restaurants. The main bar street is a few hundred yards south of the T. There are about a dozen bars, some with pool tables (and some M Ps). I walked up and down the street once and randomly selected a place. A nice looking girl came over and started giving me a nice back rub, and I‘m thinking I shouldn’t just pick the first girl that comes along, but it really was a nice massage, so WTH. Price was 300 B barfine and 1000B LT. Well, for some reason we just really clicked in bed. She actually woke me up around 3AM for another go. Totally unexpectedly, it was my best night in Thailand.

Major disappointment. First tip off should have been, when I put ISG URL into the browser at my hotel’s internet to get some advice, the site was blocked. I walked up the main tourist bar street, but it was strictly tourists/backpackers in the bars. The one hot woman I saw turned out to be a he. He/she had no advice on where to go. I stopped in at the bar at the Thai Hotel, where they had about 30 hot girls taking turns, 3 at a time, singing on a stage. I left and walked in to the first MP I came to up the street, which looked to be a "normal" MP, and said I wanted sex. She asked me how much I’d pay, and I said 800 for an hour massage and sex, she countered with 1500, we settled on 1200. She took me past the room with a bunch of pads on the floor to the "VIP room" which was large, with a nice shower. Well, the massage was great, and the sex was better. Afterwards, she just wanted to lie there for 10 minutes, an interesting change from the norm. (She said it had been a couple months.) I went back the next afternoon for a two hour massage, and it was just as good.

That night I found a street with 3 or 4 more traditional FS Mps. (go west from the night market to first main street, north a block or two, and its on the west). Poor massage, mediocre (professional) sex, 1200B. A waste.

Border pass only can be issued to those who resides in the states which border to Thailand. Kelantan, Kedah etc. The proof of address must be in the IC.

Well, Betong is really nice place to relax and "lakai" as well. Try. Kongka Betong. The place drains money out of you. But. The pussies. Wow.
