It's not Tamiflu - that's for the regular flu or, now, birdflu. What needs to be taken are the same drug cocktails that an HIV+ person would take, as soon as possible after exposure. Bumrungrad should be able to help. If you're really worried, don't wait.

Seriously, you should not worry about HIV. Other STDs on the other hand are fairly easy to catch, and the cure to some is VERY unpleasant.

Incidentally, the remedy I suggested above is what the upper class in Victorian Britain actually believed would cure syphilis. Many were disappointed.

But remember, even if you haven't seen any scratches at your penis, there are always some microscopic ones, big enough for the virus to enter your body. On the other hand, a specific virus load is needed to get infected.

Here is an interesting conundrum and hope one of my more learned colleagues can assist.

I have to state am a lover of abalone and nothing gives me more pleasure than being able to enjoy a nice session of wandering my tongue in the nehter regions. However after this recent trip I may have to reconsider the wisdom of this.

Came down with a fever and passing it off as usual run of the mill left it for a few days. When I went to the doctor he informed me the tonsils were really inflamed and that had a bacterial throat infection. Normally a course of antimycillin(forgive the incorrect spelling) should have cleared this up. But one week later it is still hammering away.

One of my more witty friends then asked me if i had been going down on any nice young ladies as this could well be the source of the infection.

Any truth in this and does anyone know of a good cure to end this one ? More importantly how to avoid in the future. Once she has all soaped up there is no telling whether or not there is a bacteria lurking in the nether regions.

Okay, about the cost. I have been to Bunrumgrad, Semitevij, Payathai and now Bangkok Hospital, they are all really expensive. Everytime way over 1000 bahts for a simple docter visit. I will never go again for small problems any more. I remember one time I went into Chulalornkorn Hospital, a public hospital, for some leg pain from over walking. Only cost 120 bahts all together with medicine. And the Chula Hospital doctors can speak good English as well. I will stick to Chula Hospital for minor problems from now on.

Back in September, on my flight from HK to Bkk, a crown came loose and luckily I didn't swallow it. As soon as I landed, walked over to BP as I was staying at the Ascot on Soi 4 (gave me a chance to check out the action during the day time).

Up to the dental clinic, 5 minute wait, 30 minute session with dentist (middle age female, spoke excellent English) to clean and put back the crown. Total cost B$1,300....no way I could have gotten that done back in the states on such notice unless it happened on my home turf and with my own dentist.

Pleasantly surprised at level of service and low fees, IMHO.
