Vung Tau is mainly for massage with FS, except that they don't line up the girls for you to choose. You do have the right of refusal and they will send in another girl. Insist on seeing the girl before you pay for ticket (about 250 k. That's for the massage. FS is another 700-800 k). I usually walk out after three girls (that I do not find a liking). The rest of the hour will be pretty close to massage parlors with Thai girl in Bangkok. Except their massage skill is lacking compared to Thai girls. The Viet girls make up for it in the looks department. I have met some great looking girls in Vungtau massage parlors. They can't massage really, but 60 minutes FS with such a girl for less than $50 USD is worth a try. By the way, the water is fine. My favorite swimming spots are the rear beach (Bai Sau) and the small beach by Lan Rung resorts (used to be known as Bai Dua). If you stay at Lan Rung resorts, you can eat and drink during / between swims, they have a restaurant / cafe plus a pool right next to the swimming area. If you stay somewhere else then they will charge a fee for chairs / towels / showers / pool. The beach is supposed to be free for all people, but most people will pay the fees for access to the amenities.

I have not done the bars in Vung Tau since they were catered mainly to the Aussies and Russians working in the Petro industry. The girls there are somewhat older, but some are still good looking. Vung Tau are best known for the massage girls. Some of my best experience are from what formerly known as Amis, but now move to hotel Binh-An at 179 Vo Thi Sau street (ticket=250 k, FS=700 k). After one or two visit, they allow take-out after 11 pm (I. E. , they recognize you as a known / safe guy). I use the following routine:
1. Ask for young and big boobs girl, say you want to see the girl BEFORE you pay the ticket.
2. When the girl shows up NOT to your liking, ask for another.
3. Keep it to no more than three rejects (walk out, since by then you know the selection / availability is limited).

A note on taxis in HCMC use Vinasun taxis they are awesome and use the meter all the time. In Hanoi it's a clusterfuck there's an app called Grab which is similar to Uber. Use that instead of taxis most taxis would try to go the long way around.

First the city doesn't have that much to offer, other had told me beforehand but I was still surprised at how little architecture / museums it had. I wouldn't spend more than 48 hrs here sure girls are easier to find but what are you going to do the other 23:30 min of the day? Yes thanks. There are just a few there, and not too desirable looking. Maybe kynu is not a good way in for Vung Tau. I see 13 available there (a few more there but unavailable now), price range from 300 to 400. In contrast, there are 331 in district 10 and 304 in district 8 with price range from 250 up to 2 million. So for someone who is hoping to find attractive girls and many choices, I guess if we find just one good massage spa in Vung Tau, it will be a better option by far than anything we can find on Kynu.
