Hey David,

No need to apologize. I started looking this up as soon as I knew I had to travel to Hanoi for work and it was well in time.

Thank you for all the tidbits, they definitely helped. I generally picked out the 600 k+ profiles, just to weed out the low barrel noise and then checked if the numbers were reachable on Zalo. Established contact after friend requests were accepted.

So I'm guessing picking up a SIM card at the airport won't be a pre-registered, ready-to-go one? In the city centre do most or many phone shops sell pre-registered ones? Any reliable shops I could use?

I'll be visiting Hanoi in October and I have a weekend to kill before my guided tour starts.
