Went for a wander down Thuy Khue, which according to earlier reports on here is Tam Quat central. For the tourist here for a short stay, I recommend going to the basement of the Fortuna hotel. Pick from one of the 300 ladies, pay $35 for a girl to sit and drink with you, $45 or something like that for the hotel room (but they ask for your passport now!) , $100 shorttime for the girl or $150 overnight. Yes this is the premium price but the girls are probably the best you will find in Hanoi and no need to haggle about price. The same goes for the Hanoi Hotel, the bar up the stairs next to the lobby, prices and quality of girls are about the same.

For massage with a happy HJ ending, go to the top of Fortuna hotel spa, Zeus spa, or Oasis Spa. Don't go to the places in Ngoc van they are really low end and are the sorts of places where the girls are working after being trafficked hence the poor reports on here. The Hanoi Hilton is the pseudonym US military pilots used to call the old French-built Hoa Lo prison in Hanoi during the Vietnam war in the 60's and 70's.

During the war over hundreds American military pilots shot down over Vietnam were imprisoned in Hoa Lo prison in Hanoi with routine interrogation and torture. This is probably the worst place to be in the war. American pilots ironically named it the Hanoi Hilton.

After the war, Hanoi turned it into a museum showing the cruelty of French colonists towards the people of Vietnam, but there was nothing displayed about American prisoners. The museum shows cells with wooden platforms and shackles for beds, torture equipment and the original guillotine used to execute prisoners.

Hanoi Hilton is a sick play of name. I doubt Hilton hotel will ever build a hotel with this name in Hanoi.
