Hi all,

This is the first time I have come to Hanoi / Vietnam. Staying in pullman Hanoi. Any good places nearby to get some fun? Seniors need your suggestions.

I got off the plane, checked into the Lake Side Hotel. 2 beautiful, little local girls behind the counter. Just my spec. Little spinners and cute. Are these a good omen for things to come? I had hopes!

Helen is one of the many amazing mamasans at this club. That's another thing I like about this place. If you're nice and sweet talk them, they will sit with you for a few minutes (provided they're not too busy). I wanted to post an update and review of the Boss KTV in the basement of the Fortuna Hotel. I think most people on this forum know about this place-beautiful women, nice atmosphere, pretty high ticket price. I've always liked it, and found it worth the money spent, for the most part, but I made a trip back a few weeks ago, and learned that they have a few new rules in place for customers, most of which are pretty annoying.

I think someone mentioned that now, if you aren't staying at the hotel, you need to have your passport on you to book a room. I don't know when this was first implemented, but it's definitely true. If you don't have a room booked at the hotel, make sure you bring your passport with you, lest you go home alone! There's also a new rule that even if you go as a single guest, and plan to have a girl sit with you, you still need to spend at least 660,000VND (I think, or around that much) on drinks. This was the worst for me, because I don't want to buy a bottle, and I don't drink all that much when I go out, so it's really just them charging even more to go there, with nothing in return.

In short, it's still a great place to go and have a fun night with a beautiful woman, but these new rules are annoying, making it more expensive than before, and I'm not sure if I'll go back any time soon. I've never been to the Hanoi Hotel KTV, but maybe it's time I gave that one a try, to see if it's any better. Hope this helps you guys.

Yes, this has been helpful. Many thanks indeed for the heads-up. I've been frequenting the Boss Club for a number of years and will be there again shortly. It will be my first time there with these new rules in place. The first rule (bringing a passport) won't apply to me, since I usually book a room there anyway, regardless. But the second rule is bothersome. In years gone by, I could get away with ordering something inexpensive like for $5 or less, and the girl orders her drink at $10 or whatever. This new rule brings the total barfine to something like $60, or $70 if you include the mamasan tip. And that's before any private action upstairs.

I'm tempted to cut back on the number of days I stay at Fortuna, in order to allow me to try Hanoi hotel nightclub instead. By the way, did you make it over to Hanoi hotel in the end? Would be good to know your thoughts on the KTV nightclub there before I book my accommodation.

Unfortnately looks like the good old days of 200 k BJs in this ST are coming to an end. Drove past today and 50-60 % of the places were closed and many of the remainder had the signs removed. Maybe because north Tulium district has just been upgraded to an inner city district they no longer allow such cheap entertainment. An old friend there said the police were causing many problems and shuting the ST down. Its a pity because there's nothing else like it in Hanoi.

Not wanting to totally contradict Ong Tay (he's a great source of posting and stories and info on here), but I've had a couple of different experiences.

At the five star places in Hanoi (Metropole, Sofitel Plaza, Hilton, Sheraton etc) if you register your 'girlfiend' and she provides her I'd, staff are fine with this. I have done this on numerous occasions, usually preceded by a phone call to check. The five star places treat their paying customers very well. If you try to obviously bring in a hooker, of course they will not want that happening. Ong Tay is right that all the large places provide plenty of opportunity to sneak someone in. However there is risk in sneaking. For her and for you.

I have a 'girlfriend' in Hanoi and we sometimes take a night or two in a nice hotel for some fun. It's never been a problem. As a foreigner, you look like you belong there anyway. Be confident, polite and charming. All things are possible.

Spent some time in Vn, having many guests. After you checked in a decent hotel it was impossible to take a lady for LT. ST was ok but as she still must leave her ID at reception they know who is where and will call to make sure she is gone by 22 h or they will offer to pay a 2nd room. But if you intend to stay with one lady there is a loophole: check out in the morning. Do your daily business and later check- in together with her and all is ok & easy. Of course not possible to change lady next day.

Hanoi can be really cheap for FS if you go for the call girls. I know websites where they list hundreds of girls with photos and price is 300 k, 500 k or 800 k at most for FS with some pretty hot girls. But this is for the locals of course, so their English ability is very low and it might be tricky to work something out. Anyways if anybody is interested in checking it out they can pm me for the details. But for sure if you ask a taxi driver or somebody like that to find you a girl, he gets you a 300 k girl and pockets the rest!

Yes, but... why? Nha Nghi's can be quite good, they are everywhere and you pay by the hour. 100 k no ID required plus 2 free condoms at my favorite one, although I've had some charge 300 k per hour (they flip the sign around to the english side with inflated prices LOL). Thanks for trying to make a recommendation, much appreciated. However, you will need to be a lot more specific than that as there are numerous TQ's on NHT. Please provide an actual street address / number if you can, or at least an estimate group of street numbers. For example, "on the left side" - when travelling in which direction? Towards Lac Long Quan or towards PVD?
