I owe it to this forum. I'the asked for advice here on the open forum and I am grateful to a few who contacted me on PM and gave me their recommendations for my trip. It was my first trip to Vietnam and I did commit a few mistakes as anyone would but learned a lot. I simply booked a flight to Hanoi and went with an open mind, without any plan as to what to do, what and where to explore.

I spent 6 days in Hanoi. In fact 7 nights to be precise. My flight landed late at night and I checked in around 12.30 am. I was in touch with a local girl from Hanoi; recommended by a friend. It was really great of him to share the contact and recommend my name to her and vice versa. I am obliged to him. My first mistake that I cancelled my hotel booking near Haon Kiem lake area right in the middle of action and booked a property in Hang Bong, around 1. 5 kilometer from the lake said by the girl. Paid 100 USD extra on my previous booking. That girl asked me 200 USD to spend the night. I was taken aback as my friend had guided me on her financial expectations. She got bitter and I simply did not respond to the chat after that. Ended up paying a lot of taxi money to the lake area as I used to go every evening and spend my time at a coffee shop viz The Note Coffee. Awesome location and fantastic coffee. Must visit. Lesson learnt; always heed the advice of veterans here and not of Pussy which I did. It was not the cab fare which pinched me but taxi drivers did not want to go on meter's as it was a very short distance. I couldn't walk much owing to leg pain. Grab and Wechat apps were not downloading on my Samsung Android phone. Don't know why? Communication in English is also a pain and used Google Translate to the max.

Met 5 girls all through Line App. Asking rate is 1. 5 million short time. I paid 1. 20 million to 3 girls and 1. 5 million to 2. I am not ashamed to admit that my 2 experiences with 1. 20 million girls were awesome and the best ones of the trip. One was total crap wherein I was cribbing and blaming myself, the last one as wanted to meet one final chick before my departure. One chick I met was actually an agent on Line which the girl said is her boss. No regret as the chick was very beautiful and hot. 5 nights I went to clubs in different areas. Had my Beers and enjoyed for a couple of hours till 2/3 am. Didn't pick up anyone as I am not a night time guy. I need my couple of hours of sleep and cannot share my room and bathroom with anyone. Need my privacy and peace of mind. They were fun nights.

Day time I was connected with my office till 3 PM. Post that couple of hours at Lake side area for coffee, one body or a foot massage at a spa close to my hotel, strolling and ice cream in night at Lake. In between a one-time session with a girl and my day and night was sorted. I wouldn't rate it as one of my best mongering trips but I am not disappointed too. Not super ecstatic but I'm more than happy that I went and ticked off one city on my list. I will go again when I get an opportunity or will combine it with Saigon and better planning. Her the girls are lots of fun. There are many to choose from and most will return to your hotel with you after sometime in the KTV.
