So maybe I'll stay at a hotel and I'm wondering what is the general policy for guests for the night or just visiting for few hours. Any ideas? Thanks!

Almost all 4-star and below hotels in Hanoi are girl-friendly. Most even rent out rooms for ST sessions. Exceptions are 5-star hotels and hotels with their own Karaoke, massage ect operations, which want you to patronize their girls.

I stayed at hotel A25 on Luong Ngoc Quyen in Old Town since it's right next to Beer St with lots of bars, restaurants and street food. The place is old but nice and well-managed. Escorts were going up to guys' rooms without being asked by reception.
