The girls might try to squeeze a foreigner for more. My advice: Never agree to an amount until after the HJ and never tip beyond 200,000 here. After 200,000 is where generous becomes sucker, in their eyes. Some of the girls are willing to give out phone numbers and make private arrangements. Bring your phone into the massage so you can get the number.

70 Nguyen Truong To has been scamming quite a few foreign visitors. They apparently have an arrangement with crooked taxi drivers to bring highly intelligent foreigners who asked Taxi drivers to recommend party places to take them directly to this scam place. There was a time some people PM (in another Forum, not this one) to me and arrange to meet me in Hanoi so that I could take them to party places. These people arrived, checked in, jumped into a taxi and asked taxi driver to bring them to party places. They did not call me, until 1am, they finally called me to tell me that they are stuck at 70 Nguyen Truong To, 4 of them, with a bill of US$300 and asked me if I could save them.

This is continueing fm my earlier report. After the scam at the KTV. Funnily enough next eve after we again endedup at same KTV where we got scammed the eve before, (my friend asked again taxi driver. Couldn't stop him.) fiunnily enough I know got the correct card fm the massage place opposite after we tried to get some money refunded or at least the promised girls delivered to our hotel. Finally we struck some good place (very local, very rundown), called as follows:

Nha nghi hoa dao (hoa dao hotel) at so: 22 duong ho boi (22 swimming pool road). 600k + 100k tip (I know we got ripped off but it was late) for 1 hour fun with cute girls.

I tried 2 more places in the same street, one at 46 to ngee van (called nha nghi van loi) and one at samew street at hoiuse no 23 or 22. The first place hoa dao hotel is justr 50 meters fm this place, so think there must be a new street name in between.

At the other 2 places had 1 hour fun for 500k + 200k tip. All over good experiences, I preferred the place at no. 46 and went there twice. Also open in the afternoon til late.

Hey guys, my first report in hanoi. Am travelling with a friend and we tried to get some action. Unfortunately had no time to read forum somehow before the trip (my gf is mostly in my house at home, can't read forum at work, will have to read up fm hotel here).

Anyway. We asked a tour operator. Where we booked sapa and hallong trip (we figured ok, hegave us goods prices, sapa trip as of 89 USD, hallong as of 49 USD but we upgraded to better hotels and boat and ended paying USD 300 total with vio cabin to sapa, better hotels etc). Where to get girls and fortuna KTV was recommended.

We went there. Nice establishment. As per previous report mama san doesn't come to u. You have to ask a waiter for her to come. Many girls. Price is USD 35 per girl sitting at your table, plus drinks. If after 2-3 mins you don't like the girl you can exchange. Drinks USD 5 for a beer.

If you take the girls to room upstairs is USD 80 for short time. USD 120 for all nite at your own hotel)so 120 +35 + drinks for girl-you). Problem was many of the girls we tried didn't want to go out all nite (at least not with us) and there were maybe 7 girls who wanted all we didn't fancy and then left.

Overall place looks nice, quiete pricey I think.

I think mamasan fave me a wrong biz card of the erstablishment called tando club. Address-map-picutres don't look like the place we have been. But who checks cards when in a place. She had written her mobile on there by pen.

Came back from 2 nites in Hanoi, stayed at the Fortuna Hotel. Agree with Explorerman's comment, I found almost everyone in Hanoi very friendly .. from the hotel staff, to restaurant waiters/waitresses, people on the streets when I went walkabout.

Tried the Spa De Palace on the top floor of the hotel, and offered only HJ at USD 30 .. asked for FS and she told me not allowed at the establishment , but if I called her for in-room massage then everything's okay at USD 80. (NOTE : There's a lady manning the reception called Maggie who's just absolutely gorgeous ... I'd marry her in my next life !! )

Called for in-room massage the next night, opted to try my luck, and was sent a sweet-looking, slim one who hails from HCMC and spoke fluent Mandarin. Unfortunately, my Mandarin language skills were almost zero.

During the massage (which was really excellent!), managed to flirt with her and made her laugh at my pitiful attempts to crack a few jokes, through a combination of sign language and 4-5 words of Mandarin that I had. At the end, she pointed at my crotch and (obviously !!) asked whether I wanted relief, and indicated USD 100 ... !!??!! Whoa !!

After frantic sign language gestures, I was surprised to learn that she did not do FS ... after awhile, she relented, saying she likes me (oh yea ..) and asked for USD 200 for FS ... wtf !!

Why so expensive ??? Is it because of the hotel, and the fact that it's full of foreigners, and I'm a foreigner?

Later, checked out the karaoke at the basement, and the ladies were really, really stunning !! But, after trying for 30 minutes to get a mama-san to come over (we were sitting at the bar), we couldn't get any attention, and finally left figuring it's gonna cost us a bomb anyway !

Despite all these, in summary, I love Hanoi !!! ... and I think given more time, it's really a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.

Ladies are always smiling, and seemed to "give you the look" that they're interested ... saw this at the pho restaurant from ladies who were customers as well, waitresses at the seafood restaurant just off the lake, office ladies at the place where I had my meetings, etc. etc. UNLESS my raging hormones were misinterpreting the signals.

Hoping to get back soon, and definitely will plan for more time on my own.
