Hello,

I'm an expat living in Vn 3 yrs and I want to ask: have you tried to approach / pick up a regular vn girl? How did that go?

After 3 years living here I am still shocked on how.

Unapproachable, shy and socially retarded some of these girls are.

Trying to plan a fun trip to Vietnam, does any one know when will travel resume, at least open up?

It's going to be a long time for most countries. The opening looks like it will start soon with safe Asian countries, then Australia and New Zealand where the virus has been eliminated. Countries from anywhere in the Americas and the EU that have not controlled the spread will not be welcomed until they have eliminated the virus. Regimes like Vietnam have worked hard to lock down their citizens to eliminate the spread while other countries were arguing for their rights to open up early and party, while the virus is still spreading. Once in awhile there is something positive to be said about totalitarian/communist countries because they controlled it and are now enjoying full freedom without worrying about the virus.

I have read articles saying that even when Vietnam partially reopens, travel will restricted to select areas like Phu Quoc Island where any potential spread can be monitored and if necessary confined to smaller areas. For international travelers there is also the issue whether they even be allowed to transit through other countries to get to Vietnam.

Kuala Lumpur has a lot in Beach Club and Thai Club. There were easily over 40 of them in Thai Club last year. None were good. 3 years ago there were some nice Viet girls in KL.

Ok that said, 1001 Pool & Hotel is for all intents and purposes the new reincarnation of Alexis Hotel and it is even swankier and has more girls than Alexis. HOWEVER, I DON'T LIKE IT NEAR AS MUCH! Because A) In 1001 Pool they keep their Viet and Kazak girls separate from the domestic girls in another room so they are only available for a request line up. That eliminates the opportunity to casually observe them and make eye contact with them. B) 1001's Viet girls are now divided into 2 price groups; regular Viet girls for 2,400,000 rp & model Viet girls for 3,400,000 rp. On the night I requested a lineup I could see no discernible difference between the two categories. It seemed to me that the model category was a total fiction. So that is my main gripe with 1001 Pool. It is not as user friendly as Hotel Alexis was and the Viets are kept apart in a separate area plus half of them are outrageously priced. But 1001 Pool & Hotel is still where you go in Jakarta if you want to shop for top quality Viet imports.

But Malioboro Lounge also has a table of Viet imports on the lower level. Usually their selection consists of no more than 5, 6, or 7 Viet girls and the Malioboro price for all import Asian girls is between 1,800,000rp and 2,100,000rp, but most times I do not find the their Viets near as attractive as the Viets that used to be available in Alexis or are now in 1001 Pool. I specifically remember one of the last times I was in Malioboro Lounge when I took a thin Asian ethnic Kazakhstan girl, my first, 1,800,000 rp, and I had a real good time with her. So occasionally I will take an import like the Kazakh girl or the Viet pro in Alexis, but at least 90% of the time I stick with the Indonesian girls. I mean, that is why I visit Jakarta.

It's been just over a year since I spent around 10 days in HCM. I mainly stayed near Walking Street but I also went to some places near Chinatown. District 5? I spent a week in HCMC but it was largely a disappointment, difficult to navigate the field with no language ability. I did much better with Viet girls I met at other destinations, in particular Singapore, Macau, and Jakarta.

Me too. I have found Saigon has too many issues standing in the way of it being a fun short time visit mongering destination. Go there for the travel experience and food and let any worthwhile girls you unexpectedly find be a fringe benefit, but don't count on it.

I have, however, met some really nice Viet girls in all three of those towns you mention in your post. Pre-Corona, I would rate Singapore #1 for Viets, Macau a strong 2nd place, and Jakarta a distant, but a still viable 3rd place. Thailand it was extremely impressive. Had a few duds who were a little indifferent, but never actively bitchy or complaining. Most were able to replicate the feeling of having sex with a girlfriend you'd only started dating 3-4 weeks ago. For at least 2, they were clearly not even pretending either and was very pleased.
