Check out Ekomo Home, in D1. It's in a small side street just south of Bui Vien. You can literally walk the alley way into BV. It's currently $24 per night, you won't here any of the clubbing music, and you'll get a key-code to come and go as you please. The owner is fully fluent in English (and pretty good looking, too. Also, there's short-time hotels EVERYWHERE in HCM. Throw a rock and you'll hit one.

Hi all.

This is a much delayed report from Ho Chi Minh City for a week I spent in end-June; I stayed at Novotel which was very convenient for work, tourism and mongering. Some hotels in HCM strictly enforce govt regulations. I would suggest everywhere in SEA always book for 2, send an email direct to hotel and get their joiner policy in writing and take it with you. I just tell them on some nights my niece might come visit me. They're not dumb, they've seen it before. Usually its the govt owned hotels that are strict.

There aren't as many in number, as far as drinky girl bars, but there's several on one street and just from walking by, the quality of them sitting outside and trying to wave me in were far better than anything I've ever seen sitting outside Pasteur st.

The street is one on the right hand side, closer to the northern side and larger than the small ones. Pretty hard to miss if walking around at night and looking for it. Follow the loud music.
