If you can speak some Viet, and are younger looking I would suggest going with the freelance route, I have had no problem getting number of attractive young chicks. I don't think Viet girls here go for money as much as some of the other 3rd world asian countries, I've hardly seen ANY hot young girl with an older white guy here, only older chicks.

The problem is that there aren't *nearly* as many available hot 30-something women in HCMC as there are in, say, Bangkok (where you could easily line up a date per day, every day with girls in this category). It might have something to do with demographics, or the fact that Vietnamese marry more quickly.

Family / societal pressure are a huge deal in Vietnam. In Thailand, being seen with a white guy gains face for a girl, even if she's middle-class (if the guy is not a complete slob). In Vietnam it just raises suspicions and invites negative gossip. It seems to me, that even in a big city like HCMC, Vietnamese seem to care much more about their social circle (neighbors, family, coworkers) than in Bangkok, which is for many people way more anonymous, a bit like Western cities.

I have a sense that Viets can be just as money oriented and curious about foreigners as others, but in the tight-knit society, social stigma is feared more. However, if you don't make it public, they'd be just as eager. Too bad HCMC online dating sites are not very extensive.

Thanks for your reply Suds. I realize that these places are not takeaway brothels in the same way that 91 or 49 are on HBT or Dong Khoi and vicinity. I know the bartenders are just that. But still, they are young and dress sexy and it is their job to be friendly and affectionate. At Kim's Hideaway on Thai Van Lung there are some FL (not connected to the bar) and some of the girls who do work there get very touchy feely at the bar and couch, raunchy even. Just wondering what the takeout possibilities are, if any. I like the looks of one of the girls at Kim's and also one at Kim's Hideaway.

That is definitely true, the 1st time I came to Vietnam was this summer. I was traveling with my mother that time, when I was changing at the hotel I wanted to wear board shorts and a wife beater since it was a billion degrees outside. Well my mom bitches at me and says here in Vietnam, even though it is hot a shit you have to dress up so people don't think your poor and look down on you.

IFor guys in their 50's, it's important to be fairly slim and to dress well, girls will be ok with you then. But forget about big and fat and hairy with shorts and a singlet and sandals. No Sukhumvit Road style is acceptable here.

This is good p4p and non-p4p advice in general, and really, extends to all age groups. I'm younger, rather skinny and for the last few days have been wearing jeans (stylist jeans) and long sleeve shirts normally rolled up to the elbow as opposed to shorts and t-shirts / singlets. While I'm not sure how much how much may be my own attitude, it has felt as if everything from bartering for moto fare to hitting on local girls is a lot easier to reaching an agreement on price with a working lady. I agree that for Viet girls who are hot and young it is somewhat shameful to be seen out with an old white guy. Not 100% for sure, you will see some, but it's not like Thailand or the PI. But if it's in his home or hotel, there is no shame. They don't care so much what they do or who they are with, it's that they care about what others see and think of them. The problem in Vietnam is certainly not high prices, and not even low availability, but horrible ripoff-oriented attitude, tons of hassle and low general quality of service.

For the prices, Vietnam is ultra cheap. You can *reliably and repeatably* get a BJ from a 20-something decent looker in a HotToc for $7. 50-$10 (150-200k dong) , and even FS for $15-20 (300-400k dong). Service will be crappy 4/5 times, but that's a different story.

I am Vietnamese but I grew up in America since I was a baby so when I speak Viet I pretty much sound like a white guy trying to speak it. Everytime I go purchase something one of my relatives or friends always tell them to let them do the talking, if I do the talking I will almost always get a higher bill then it should be, plus most of the time you can barter down the prices.

As for the quality of services, I'm on my 2nd trip to Vietnam this year, and in about 5 monger visits I only had 1 I thought was outstanding services, so I guess the 1 in 5 stat Crocodilexp put out was about spot on. And that 1 ended up costing an arm and a leg for Vietnam, after the hotel, taxis, barfine and girl.

Not wrong there, I just returned from checking out a new MP. I won't even bother with a report as it had the usual attendant hovering over me, He even tried telling me how much to pay the girl, Time for the masssage and its light rubbing with oil, a shitload of slapping / pounding on my back and shoulders with only a few seconds of walking on legs and back. For the ending she offered HJ or BJ. BJ she wanted 500k. Yeah I can get laid for that with 2 pops, As I left the bike attendant who had fvcked with my mirror on my bike wanted a 20k tip as its TET.
