261 and No1 are getting renovated, these 2 clubs and TX can NEVER get shut down, for one good reason. 50% of 261 is owned by the government (nha nuoc) (there is a good reason for this, long story)

Posts: 1390OK yes we were at Pine Tree again last night and asked, and they filled us in. I think it's been more than 2 weeks it's shut. I knew of the place already, but didn't know it by that name. We all just still called it by its old name, #1. (Nhac Tre #1) The Le Thanh Ton location was also shut down around the same time. I never did get into the one on Nguyen Van Troi when it was open. It seems as if Pine Tree has picked up the slack though, with 4 floors open now and very busy.
I found the Khanh Loc place too, though haven't ventured inside yet. Huyen Quang is the little alley street it's on. You could drive past it six times and never know it's there.

261 is on Nguyen Van Troi with the same address, however it was closed down about 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if the cops shut it down or they were just remodeling.

Posts: 1390Txmanny: Ah ok, Que Quang must be so small that I didn't see it on the map. Thanks.
2234: This 261 sounds interesting. Where is it? I've never heard of it, unless its one I've been to but just don't know by that name. I don't think so though. We actually went to Pine Tree last night and weren't allowed in on the first two levels for some reason. The third level was nothing great. One beer, left.

If you like Thong Xanh then you will definately like 261 (same owners, but 261 is alot more busier and more famous than TX, alot of models and pop stars, models etc. go there. It's really for the rich locals and viet kieu's)
Need anymore help in this area of Sai Gon then let me know. I know my way around this area very good as I have stayed in this area and done business in this area for a long time now.

Posts: 23Nope, Que Quang is a little street that you will encounter prior to Tran Quang Khai if you are on Nguyen Phi Khanh heading away from Vo Thi Sau. This Que Quang street is the last 3 way intersection you will encounter on Nguyen Phi Khanh before encountering Tran Quang Khai. Turn lf on Que Quang street from Nguyen Phi Khanh. Khanh Loc is the only karaoke on that street. Que Quang is a very small street that dead ends quite quickly. Just remember if you go there to tell the waiters not to bring any of the side items (such as chips, gum, jerkeys, etc.). Just ask for a case of you choice of beer and a plate of fruits. Never let them sucker you into eating the side items or order food from these karaoke places (even if your gal tells you she is hungry) b/c the food is charged way too high for the lack of quality you get. Remember to ask for either mammason Mai or Duyen. Tell them you were sent there by a regular. This place and Truc Mai 1 are pretty customer friendly (ie lack of scams) but as always though, use your common sense.
