I sometimes went to those bars near Bitexco over a year ago with a buddy who goes every week. Not my scene really but at that time it didn't seem like girls were as available as we prefer them to be here. More like projects to work on for weeks or months. I'd be curious to hear your take on how things work in those places. I miss the old HBT bars, where it was very straightforward, no 'varying degress' to deal with.

I don't hang out that regular, much more before, but there are all kinds of girls working and there are occasional ladies out before going to Apo or friends of waitresses but in general, it is a project in most cases although there are full-on workers in some bars. Now I have heard stories of wild things sometimes happening in those bars, and also guys managing to go to a hotel with some girls, but that's not standard. You can't walk in and point to a girl and say "I'll take that one" and go to a hotel. (that's how it worked at the HBT bars) You have to work on it and charm her, repeat visits over time, and maybe it will happen in her off-hours, or maybe not. And these are not the kinds of girls you are describing either. You're talking about girls who aren't doing "customer service" in male-oriented nightlife venues. And that is a whole other kind of girl. The girls you talk about don't have the experience of being hit on by customer after customer after customer every night. Their job is getting hit on, really. It kind of warps their minds, ruins them in a way. They lose the kinds of qualities you describe (and love) in Vietnamese women, but they do remember how to pretend to be that way. Unless one is bold enough to approach the girls one likes, one would never know which ones are available, willing and interested in relationships. By traditional culture, most Viet girls and women in good families are brought up as nice, gentle, innocent, respectful humans, remaining almost child like all their lives. They are prudish, shy and conservative in relationships with men, they would wait for the men to make the first and every moves. Tonight I went to Apocalypse now. I can see why reviews were shaky on this place. I walked out after a little under an hour. Drinks over 100 k dong. Beer 115 k dong, white Russians 130 k dong when on buy vien street beer is 30-50 k dong which is still overpriced honestly.

The hottest girls in the club were quoting me 5 mil dong for ST and had attitude when I asked them to do a quick spin for me so I could see what they were offering for 5 mil. The lowest I was able to get the girls down to at 2 am was 3 mil which is still crazy overpriced.

I ended up leaving, frustrated and complained to my motorbike taxi which then he asked me if I want boom boom with sexy girl for cheap. I said sure show me this place and he drove me to some hotel with a girl waiting in the door who was surprisingly hot.

Bars in the backpacker district with girls, cost 1. 5 million -- all near where Bui Vien meets Do Quang Do street. Mixed in quality, but if you look around you should be able to find a good one. Most girls seem to show up 9 pm or later.

Nguyen Phi Khanh street in upper district 1 with lots of 'hot toc' salons offering BJ at 400 -- service is pretty good, with attractive girls. Start at Vo Thi Sau and walk up this street, they're about half-way to the next big street. 8-10 of them.

Apocalypse Now nightclub many working girls there, opening prices start high. Someone reported asking price of 5 million for ST recently but that seems off the charts.
