Given that my hotel does not allow company and I do like more than a cramped hot toc, I have been hunting for, shall I say, a regular brothel for 6 months now.

(I come here very often).

Finally found one.

This place is opposite the Grand Saigon hotel in a small alley off. On the corner there is a small cafe.

If you are not sure, just sit here and get a beer and you will see a flock of women going in and out. Just follow the candy.

Once you enter the alley, normally someone will approach you. He is is manager of the 'hotel'.

If not, just walk 20 metres and you will see a hotel on your left. Small reception are and a room to the right with chairs etc. This is the choosing room.

They will line up the offerings here. You can sip a beer in the meantime if you want.

The choice is between 4-5 girls, in their mid 20's and no more than a 7.

Rooms are upstairs and service is standard. BBBJ with some coaxing but rest is standard.

Damages: 1 Million all in (USD 50) for ST.

Also, I'm only two days in and I'm beginning to hate this place. Every (read: Every) person is out to scam you one way or another. If you see a smiling face, they are trying to get something from you. It's a country where you have to ask anyone you are doing any financial transaction with (like food, cabs, goods, whatever) how are you going to try to fuck me over. Such as hugely different prices for foreigners, "hidden" fees, etc.

If that's not enough, crimes against tourists seem to be going up. They come around with box cutters to cut your backpack / camera strap away from you then race off on their Vespas. Or come up to you in gangs of five or more then mug you. The police here are next to useless. You have to actively protect all of your belongings at all times, even hotels.

I've never seen anything like this before. Don't get me wrong. I've been to PI, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. I don't mind if I get overcharged a buck or two in these places because I understand their economic situation. I'm actually pretty liberal with my money when it comes to vacations. But Saigon / HCMC is definitely something else.

My hope is when I escape this city tomorrow to go up to Hoi An, it may get better. I doubt it though. There's no wonder in my mind why only 5% of tourists return to this place a second time.

5 pm first evening.

I went for a massage in a central spot in D1 opposite corner near Louis Vuitton shop. I was lured in by a really cute, sexy girl outside. When we got upstairs I could tell she didn't want to do the body massage (and probably her job is only to stand outside and attract the punters), but with some persuasion they agreed she would do it.
