HCMC and Hanoi seem to be getting all the love here in the Vietnam forum, so I'm doing my part to keeping the Nang relevant, since I'm here anyway.

After my misadventures not having a local sim card, I finally found a Viettel and went there this morning.

English was not happening, and even with Google Translate, I felt we weren't communicating at all.

But I managed to get a 60-day sim card (which I don't need since I'm only here for a week) that had data, free voice, and 3,000 sms messages for 120,000 dong.

They made a copy of my passport and took my picture.

For those who don't want to give away that kind of personal info, I recommend either not getting a local sim and just sticking with the massage places, or possibly going through a broker and getting an unregistered sim. But then you run the risk of having it shut off randomly.

Also, I was told that the airport can also be shady when getting a sim card, so there's no guarantee that you're getting a legit sim unless you directly to one of the telecom stores.

On a side note, there is also a Viettel postal service, so make sure you're heading to the right place (a telecom store) on Google Maps or you might end up at a post office type place.

But if you're staying in a big city, the other telecoms here are also supposedly okay. But I haven't tried them.

Today was Gaito girl day, so I pulled up the latest iteration of the website (gaito. Fun), turned on Google Translate, and I narrowed it down to the region where I was at.

I messaged 7 girls that had the most reviews, but only 2 replied. I'm not sure if it's because it's a weekend or whatever.

Hello everyone. Long time lurker first time poster. I figured I would do my first post outside my normal area because why not.

Just arrived in the Nang and just wanted to share my first day experience and helpful hints:

1) Get a local sim card with a local phone number when you land. Whether it's outcall massages or Gaito or whatever, everything is done by SMS, and it's hard to do that without a local number.

Also it helps to get a sim card at the airport where the people there can speak English to a certain degree. If you can't or forgot (like me) to get one at the airport, get a sim from an authorized telecom store. I recommend Viettel. Vietnam has gotten strict with unauthorized sim cards, so getting one from that one guy on the street or that crappy looking storefront is a gamble. Also, I heard horror stories of unauthorized vendors stealing your personal info and selling sims in your name. So stay safe and just get your damn sim card (with local number!) at the airport or directly from Viettel or one of those authorized dealers. Your Airalo is not going to cut it here.

2) en. admassage.net.

This is for outcall massages to your hotel or where ever you are staying. I read that everything was on the table including FS, and I heard it worked for a lot of other guys.

It basically works like this:

A) You choose your girl, give your name, the address you are staying, and a phone number and the check out like you are doing your online shopping. No money is collected at this point and no confirmation email or anything.

B) The operator texts you to confirm that you really booked the girl and will tell you how long it will take for the girl to get there. If you don't have a local number or a foreign number that allows for text messaging you are fucked, which is what happened to me. Since the operator didn't get a reply from me (because I couldn't), she called me, and we were able to work things out, but their English is *really* bad, so it would've been better to just sms and use Google Translate.

C) The girl shows up, but some hotels have curfews for non-guests. Mine was 11 pm, so you'll need to factor that in your plans. Also, if the operator and I would've been able to communicate, I would've just met the girl in the lobby and bypass the curfew altogether. Which is just another reason you should get a local phone number and use Google Translate.

D) The girl I chose *refused* to do anything beyond a "healthy" massage, so no hjs, no bjs, or any other letter you can think of. So just fair warning, ymmv, depending on the girl that you choose. But I know it has worked for other guys, but this ain't guaranteed.

3) Sakura Massage.

You can find this on Google Maps, and it's hard to miss. This one was definitely a win and highly recommended.

I walked in, there was a nice girl who showed me the menu. I opted for just one girl for 1. 5 million dong for 60 minutes.

They tell you to wait in the waiting room which is the first door on the left when you walk in. The door was closed for some reason, so I walked right by it and ended up in their storage room.

A guy will come in and take you up the elevator and to your darkly lit room with a bed, bathtub, and a bathroom with a sauna. There is also a place to put your stuff and hang your clothes.

This was my first time doing this, so I just sat on the bed with my clothes on, but I guess you're supposed to strip down when the girl shows up.

Girl shows up, she tells me to take off my clothes and sends me into the sauna for a few minutes.

Then she takes off her clothes, draws a bath, and she washes you up, which was nice.

After drying you off, she takes you to the bed for the massage part. Hi there, I am a long time reader and have posted under different accounts previously. I just never remember my login details. I try to avoid posting here but thought I should share this.

I went to Phu Quoc earlier this year and stumbled on a bit of a goldmine. An ocean of shag shacks!
