Ok, I'm going to start planning really early for this one. I live in China, and have spent a lot of time in Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan, and a few days each in Cambodia and Japan. However, I will be making my first trip to Vietnam for two weeks over Chinese New Year next February. What do you experts recommend? Where shouls I go, what should I do, etc. Looking for tourism, girls, bars, nature, historical sights, whatever is fun. Friends who have gone rave about Nha Trang, so that is a definite, but where else? HCN, Hanoi, or ???

BTW, I will most definitely RTFF thoroughly in the coming months.

Firstly be aware that Chinese New Year (Tiet in Vietnam) is a time when businesses shut and people go home to family. Even tourism based businesses slow down and internal travel gets very crowded. The big hotels still operate but during Tiet 2005 a lot of small hotels and restaurants in HCMC were shut.

Be aware also that the big 3,4 & 5 star hotels are decidely not GF. In Vietnam you need to either use the smaller hotels or the short time hotels and during Tiet this can get difficult.

Had a great time in Nha Trang and had no problem finding P4P scene. My favorite was the Houng Xua barbershop on Tran Quang Khai st. Nice compliment of girls 10 or so with none over 20. Nice lookers too with all shapes and sizes. In house BBBJ in the back 200, 000VND or $12. 50USD affordable by most standards with quick and efficient service. Another option was the ST at a local mini hotel for 300, 000VND or about $18. 75USD hotel included for 1 hr. I was offered all night for $62. 50USD through the house or for $37. 50USD after 11: 30pm through the girl after hours at my hotel which was GF. FS was everything I thought it would be BBBJ, rim, daty, and very hot looking lil honey. A little rushed for 1 hr but ST was worth the price with the hotel fee included.

DaNang has some very interesting P4P places but the one I want to mention is the Bamboo Green Riverside. Massage "in room" just order it up price 150,000VND or about $9USD and change. Had a totally hot number #5 who loves it all but a bit pricey. You really have to negotiate, rim, bbbj, no cim but a great pair of tits that while in your room you have many more options. Wouldn't let me suck the nipples though but what a pair. Very playful little thing with a great mouth and no short change on the massage either. When it was all over she gave me a gret massage for the full 1 hr and then some. Also called me the morning of my departure to say goodbye and I could have used a send off but too early for massage service. Nice having them come to your room much more intimate and a much bigger bed to work on.

Took the hydro down to VT to sample the local fruit. Didn't have to go too far. Was approached by a moto driver, was toured around the city and beach area, nice but wanted to get to some action. Palace Hotel, to the right theres an archway, down the block there's a hotel, Holiday Mansion. Massage, 150,000. or just under $10. Not so attractive girls but the service was excellent. Pushed for full service but I was more into bbbj. What a mouth, and playfull as hell. rim, bbbj and cim, sweet melons on the girl also for a Viet and liked them played with. #7 is all I got out of her but worth the 2 shots I got in the hour for 300, 000 or just under $20 USD.

Round-trip air fair to Nha Trang from Saigon was only $84 but that was for a trip on a Cessna. I took the "bus" (actually a large mercedes van which are quite common) there but that was about 10 hours on a very dangerous two lane road. The driver would rush into oncoming traffic to pass slower traffic in our lane and cut back in just barely avoiding an accident. One friend was so angry about that driving practice he made the driver only pass on straighaways without any oncoming traffic. His bus took half an hour longer. I decided to fly back. Even a single engine plane is safer IMO.

The safest and cheapest way to travel from HCM to Nha Trang is by train. Take the last train leaving Saigon around 11:00PM and you should be at Nha Trang as early as 5:30AM the next day. You can have your hotel (even a mini hotel) gets the ticket for you. They will charge you an extra VND 50000 per ticket.

You can buy expensive sleeping seat for VND250000 (about $18.00); 4 people/seats per cabin. For the cheaper sleeping seat VND200000 ($14), 6 people are in one cabin. These cabins are all AC.

So, total cost of transportation is VND300000 ($20) per seat.

If you travel with friends, just buy the regular seats, like VND60000, and save the money for beers. You can party on the train and [CodeWord140] the hell out of other people because some of them need to sleep because they have a long way to go.

There is a bus service (which is over night). I have a few contact in Nha Trang and if you want someone to show you around let me know. $100? I stated at Hotel Dai Duong which is across the street from the beach for only $20 a night. PM if you want info It was very clean, had decent size rooms, cable, air conditioning and was girl friendly. My friends family listened to the touts much to my stomach's regret. My friends who spoke Vietnamese say they were propositioned several times. A girl I met in HCMC now works in a travel office if anyone wants good service booking trips within VN or around the local asian countries. She speaks rudimentary English. PM if interested.

My understanding from residents is that Dalat has no action of its own and it is common for vistors to bring their own entertainment.

Or you can simply walk into the Vietnam Airline office, there is one in D1 accross the street from the Peoples Committee Building and the Rex Hotel. It's really easy just go in and ask for a Que number, waite a short time in the AC'd office. Check out the little lookers while you wait. The staff is very helpful and usually very pretty.

I think the cheapest way (not neceesarily the best way) is by bus which cost around $5 to $10 (I forgot). It takes about 12 hrs from SG to NT (only do this if you have time and like to see what is going on on highway 1) but you can save some money for mongering.

Or you can take a train:

Earlier this year I traveled from SGN to NT. I booked the flight at the Caravelle business center. It cost about 140$ rt and they had the ticket for me next day.

In NT, I was impress by a new restaurant brewpub. They have good beer and massages upstairs. Nice facility with private steam showers. Had a one hour for 100000 plus 200000 for the happy ending. I do not remember the name but it is on a main road just on the south side of town ( I believe).

Does anyone know the name?
