How would this be justified if it's mostly a cash economy in which they operate.

They are properly registered Pty Ltd businesses with ASIC, hence will qualify for handouts. They just have "no income", despite having hundreds of horny mongers going through their doors in the good old days. Like all cash only businesses, they just claim "business no good" when it comes to completing their BAS return. LOL.

Where the normal HJ service is on offer, when the customer pays the $50 for example up front the shop will usually keep $30, staff $20 in the basis on most occasions they will have a $20 or $30 minimum tip in the room. (some maybe do a 50/50 $25 each in the knowledge the tips maybe greater in the room).

In busier times they could make pretty good tax free $- 6 clients a day, reasonably expect a minimum of $300, not taking in to consideration any extra service or tips they secured in the room..

Most I imagine would not be entitled to any Gov support, so will be plenty of them looking for some income, but as we all know arranging that in the current circumstances is nearly impossible in Melbourne at this time.

What is for certain is that many will not reopen after the lock down, as no rent will be paid. I am sure many landlords will understand the need to be patient, not having rent paid, but the care factor for many of these operators will be Zero.

Many I am certain will do a runner, break the lease and worry about the consequences later. Already see a couple of examples over my way (Bayside) with all the shitty bedding and odds sitting out the front of the shop for collection.

Mate, I'm not sure what your plans for Bali are, but I saw TV footage recently showing the place so crippled for lack of tourism that they forced it to open but only to Indonesian nationals and Chinese, not my cup a tea. I agree with Croc 100% I wouldn't trust a word that a Muslim nation claims as their infection rate let alone their PPE procedures, more like the indian security students here.

The shop usually keeps half of the base massage fee. Any tips the girls earn for HJ, BJ or FS are all for the girls to keep. Where the girls have been brought into work off gambling debts in their home countries, the shop will take all of the base massage fee to cover the debt, accommodation and travel costs.
